KZbin is FILLED with videos making Phil look like a fool. You have to admit he was something of a genius here. He put Jungleman on a funk and then used that to win -- he ran over him like a steamroller, you have to admit it. He drove Jungleman crazy then beat him like a stepchild. Most people will say that Jungleman is one of the absolute best heads up players out there, too.

@Prometheus7272
@Prometheus7272 4 жыл бұрын
KillCity_GR27 Giving your opponent respect in poker refers to your belief that that player could have a strong hand. For example if a extremely tight player utg raises, those facts means you would give that player respect for a big hand and be way more likely to fold. This is just what respect means in poker lingo.

I had to pause this video, bc I hated hated hated Phil’s re-raise shove on the turn where he made a set of 5’s after checking the flop. Why not just flat Jungles bet on the turn, and let him take a shot on the river and THEN shove? Even if he mucks it, you’re still getting another street of value. Just seems like you’re not getting max value by putting Jungle, who is already tilted af, to a decision right there for nearly his whole stack after you made your set.
@gregorym6099
@gregorym6099 3 жыл бұрын
There was already 3 diamonds on the flop and Jungle had an open ended straight draw. There's tons of rivers where Phil cant value bet his hand. Whats he supposed to do with bottom set if a 4th diamond hits the river? When the straight draw completes? Too many scare cards. He can still get called by some of the high one-diamond hands when he shoves on the turn, im not 100% sure if its the optimal play, but i dont really think its a bad move in that spot.
@gregorym6099
@gregorym6099 3 жыл бұрын
I also think the fact that Jungle is tilted af might help Phil get called by worse sometimes. I could see Jungle tilt-calling with 2 pair there, i can also see him calling with his open ended straight draw occasionally. I can see the logic behind your decision but in real life if/when that 4th diamond hits its scary as fuck. I feel like seeing the whole cards biases our opinions sometimes. Can Phil really call if Jungle bombs that river on a 4th diamond?

These commentators simply aren't good. The 1 joke they make 20 different ways isn't funny, and listening to Stapleton's nasal drawl dish out sarcastic remarks gets old fast. A lot of the comments are neither witty nor relevant from a poker standpoint. Example: flop goes check-check, then Jungle turns a boat while Phil has ace high. When Phil now leads out for about half pot, Stapleton says "Phil bets too little, too late." Do you think a larger bet on the turn would make Jungleman fold what's basically the nuts? This show is so hokey and it tries to be all "oo, meta-hokey, we're constantly mocking our own approach" but the approach is just actually bad
