We're back! But with a twist this time. Thank you all for your patience. Though in reality I'm really just taking your lack of awareness and apathy towards my existence and construing it into patience. This is called delusions of grandeur. I think. I can't be bothered to look it up. Either way, I hope you enjoy the video! Feels good to be back.

Great reaction/analysis s always. Made me happy to hear that you also like this band from my home country Finland. And yes, you're at the center of the Universe since I created it like that. P.S. Did you know that Jari (the main composer/lead vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist of Wintersun) is missing part of his lungs due to tuberculosis he got while serving his compulsory military service in the Finnish army.

In the intro the time signature of the 'music' (git / bass) is 3/4, while drums play a 2/4. That gives the 'overall' rhythm a kind of endless feeling. A good choice and one of the most striking musical aspects of the start of this song.

great video! good to see you back! looks like there are great things in the works for you c: can't wait to see you react more to Wintersun ^^ It is true that at least Eternal Darkness and Loneliness is some of the best work Jari's ever done, in my opinion, however, from the rest of their discography there are many many many songs that are on that level. I love every single Wintersun song. If I were to make a tier list, like most of their songs would be in god tier, and the rest in S tier. Haha
@JuniioMusic
@JuniioMusic 5 жыл бұрын
haha thanks, I hope so! And I'm sure that eventually I'll react to every single Wintersun song, they've all been at LEAST S-tier so far.

Juni, bro! You're back!! And how cool about your move, etc. I like your new digs. And I wish you HUGE success. As far as the video goes, I like the singing Vikings. Very cool, ethereal number that rocks nicely. Good stuff indeed. Nifty analysis, as usual. I've been chugging a lot of Dimmu Borgir, Wheel, and Mastodon lately. There are so many good Wheel numbers in particular. Egad are they good.

Hey man. I highly recommend you check out Ne Obliviscaris. They are on the same level of musicianship as these guys with a lot of depth to their songs and a lot of moving parts. The best song I'd recommend that probably has some of the most depth to it, both musically and lyrically, is 'Tapestry of the Starless Abstract'. Imo, it's their best song and it's an extremely underrated one. If you'd rather do the song that everyone does (which is also an amazing song), check out 'And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope'. And if you absolutely need a video to react to as well, the only song they have with a video is 'Intra Venus'

@@7enebriss837 Dont get me wrong. I love And Plague Flowers the Kaleidoscope.. And while, instrumentally it's an extremely strong song, vocally it doesn't showcase what they can do. The intro, and the flamenco pieces are fantastic and all, but I think there are songs that do a better job of showing just what they can do. That said, any NeO song is a masterpiece.

Wintersun also looks a bit like the Dutch band 'Heidevolk', with the latter being a bit more 'for the people'. Similarities: Interest in nature, Viking history, folk things and harmonious metal singing. Wintersun is a bit further than Heidevolk in terms of musical and sound technology. Heidevol is a bit easier accessible. And last but not least: Thanks for another interesting reaction!
