Junior is number 1 in my book absolutely the most underated guitarist alive today and one of the worlds best! He can play any genre and play it well his fretwork is untouchable and his picking is outstanding! Why isn’t junior recognized for his awesome playing skill? Seriously he is phenominal!

in a interview way back in the 80s they asked Stevey rayvon his inspiration to his sound that he plays and this guys name came up right away

I think it's more Hendrix "Voodoo Chile" than "Red House" in the section Junior starts at around 6:00. The note he plays before the rest of the band comes in are almost exactly what Hendrix plays to kick off the 15 minute version of "Voodoo Chile" (not "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" , which is on side 4) from the Electric Lady Land album, side 1.
