Can you imagine if someone went to the BBC with an idea for a programme like this now? "Right guys, we get boys to ride motorbikes over big obstacles, jumping ditches and there's a chance that they might break a leg. Can we show this on Saturday morning tv?"

I think they don't count penalties between obstacles. He just made it out of the obstacle before touching his feet down.

Those kids were all born Circa 1970. Making them in their early/mid forties today. Almost certainly with their own kids, possibly about this age. I wonder what the fathers are doing these days, and what their kids get up to? It would be interesting to find out. Maybe a one-off TV show?

I fucking loved this programme but it always presented a sense of incongruity in my mind - on one hand, Kick Start riders always seemed quite respectable, but around where we lived the only kids I knew with motorbikes like this were rough as fuck and lived in caravans. And I never saw any of them wear a helmet.
