There are ways to make a pad last a bit longer for a growing goalie, such as boot risers. Of course sizing has changed drastically, particularly with how smaller pads being used with the Lundy Loop, as the loop can raise the effective size up to an inch or two. I use an Intermediate Large in Bauer X5 Pro and enjoy more mobility. I am 5'9" tall with super short thigh bones.

Thanks for sharing your tips - I like the mobility in the intermediates too.

At 5’5” I live this. Vaughn and Brian’s do custom Bauer adult XS is another option. I’m in an adult V9 31+1.5

Have fun out there. If you are around on a Sunday morning have a check on the ice to see if I'm in net :)

I’m shrinking as I get older and Vaughn has changed its sizing so no I am right on the boarder between senior and intermediate. Some sellers have senior Vaughn 32’s and some have intermediate 32’s while many still don’t have 32 at all. It’s either 31 or 33. I worry about losing 2 inches of overall width - if I’ll notice or if I’ll benefit in more mobility.

Losing the width is a concern, but I feel like I benefit from the mobility because I am not the greatest skater.

Mobility is HUGE for any goalie, no matter the skating acumen.
