I'm a 58 year old retired philly Police Sgt. and this song reminds me of summers with my mother, father, aunts and uncles doing there thing at great family barbeques in the back yard. They are all gone now, but I still copy my uncles dance to this whenever I hear it. It makes me feel good but my eyes gets watery every time for some reason. lol

I was 13 when this was released. I babysat for a couple down the street. They had a fantastic collection of Motown, R&B, Blues, LP’s. Loved going there because I was allowed to play any I wanted. Fell in love with this song IMMEDIATELY! This song was the hottest song in LOS ANGELES in 1968. it was No.1 on the charts for 5 weeks. I was in East Los Angeles visiting my cousins at the time. Everyone loved this song. Great family memories.

Background singers the andantes, background singers on many many Motown songs, in fact this song was recorded in Detroit at Motown, junior walker hated it didn't want to record it, it sat on the shelf for sometime before they convince him to record it, the rest is history

I remember when my aunt would play this song and we would be outside on the patio she had a Nice View of Downtown Los Angeles. This was her favorite song at the time. I was13 years old back then. I Miss her, now I am 67 years old and my cousin, her son got caught up in gang life who I used to sit with is locked up for Life. Miss him also.
