I'm a 58 year old retired philly Police Sgt. and this song reminds me of summers with my mother, father, aunts and uncles doing there thing at great family barbeques in the back yard. They are all gone now, but I still copy my uncles dance to this whenever I hear it. It makes me feel good but my eyes gets watery every time for some reason. lol

I was 13 when this was released. I babysat for a couple down the street. They had a fantastic collection of Motown, R&B, Blues, LP’s. Loved going there because I was allowed to play any I wanted. Fell in love with this song IMMEDIATELY! My first introduction into soul music. 50+ years later I still get that rush of excitement the minute those opening notes start. ❤❤❤ Once a soulie always a soulie.

"Gonna blow again fa ya"...Junior's voice just fit this song perfectly. Plus the wail of his Sax just added to the magic. This came out in 69 or 70....but the stereos never did this song justice. Today on some nice speakers...you can hear every note and feel that soul wrenching back beat...just sooo smooth. Thanks Jr and all your AllStars! Miss those innocent days of my mis spent youth.....

@@tturner12341 well yeah that's like anyone who was born in Genesee county was born in Flint at one of the hospitals. Doesn't make them from Flint

@@garrettromer8499 I get what you’re saying. But, if I tell people I’m from Southfield Michigan most people wouldn’t know where I’m from. So I just say Detroit. But, it is great being so close to downtown. Southfield by the way is far from being a white suburb.

Grew up loving the amazing Jr. Walker and The All Stars. Remembering Friday night dances after football games and Saturday night dances at the American Legion and dancing to this song. Life and the fantastic music we loved was so sweet. Thank you Jr. & the All Stars. Your music is beyond fantastic.

My parents had this exact record. I remember sneaking and listening to it from time to time when I was a kid in the early 70's 🙂 Thank you Mom and Dad for having good music like this when I was growing up 🙂
