Hello. This was a great video to follow for my daughters homework. We also really struggled fitting the base and deck and would have benefitted from seeing your attempt at this....but have just about got there for this. Did you paint deck or is that brown paper? What have you used at top of mast? Only other comment I would make is we used very stiff cardboard and needed an industrial stapler because of this. Recommend that nobody else does this...made the whole thing trickier. Thank you for great video though.

you dnt show bottom of boat? all worked ok till got to the base and deck as u dnt show how to fit base or deck jumps from cutting bas and deck to them being in the boat,,, never showed how to do it,,, and for future u dnt use a hack saw for wood,, hack saw is for metal

Dear Kevo, Thank you for your comments. To fit the deck you need to fold each flap around the card and hold the card so that the flaps hang downwards. Put glue on each paper flap. Do a few at a time and stick the flaps around the side of the boat about 1 to 2 cms. below the sides. You can secure the flaps with sellotape under the deck. It was difficult to show this on the video as it is very fiddly and takes time for the glue to dry. You then do the same for the base, but this time the flaps would be folded up rather than down. Hope this makes sense! I thought you could buy blades for cutting wood which fix to to a hack saw, we used them in CDT when I taught this at school. Anyway, thank you for letting me know.
