You have such a wonderful repertoire of techniques. Your journal pages and cards have such a imaginative, playful, fanciful style. It’s inspiring.

I love it. Crows are in a lot of old superstitions, so probably why they are in primitive art. Thanks for sharing. Take care, hugs

I am really just in full caretaker mode for awhile. But a friend did organize a food train thing which is helpful on days I don't have to prepare dinner for people!

I do hope things for your family are better. That you for sharing. The city owns a park behind my home we have about 6 crows that have adopted this park as their home. I wish they were ducks. But your crow looks great to me. Keep doing your style of art for us. We love your art. Thank you. ❤😊

Thank you so much Cheryl :) Well the vacation got cut short as I had to rush home for my best person to have emergency and be in the hospital for 21 days. Home now...but not up to anything much yet.

@@ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio it had occurred to me that life was being complicated and stressful right now. Sorry to hear that your special guy spent 21 days in the hospital. You both must be exhausted. Sending my best wishes through the moon, when I can see it. Love ya, Shel.

I was so excited to get the notification that you uploaded a video ❤ I have been watching your older videos to sustain my Shel C withdrawals. I hope things are going better with your family. Also I think the bird looks like a coot! Which is a water bird that’s smaller than a duck, and I feel like your drawing is a perfect example of one! I really appreciate that this year it is a weekly art journal page rather than daily. I often do not play along because daily seems so daunting and I know I won’t stick with it, but weekly feels manageable! This might be the first challenge I may actually join. I also love the theme of primitive art - it feels less intimidating for me as a beginner artist.

Hi Vanna :) I hope you do join in the weekly challenges. Peg and I really needed to just take more time to do a little bit a day instead of making it a marathon this year!

Love this page Shel, sunflowers are my favorite flower and add a pumpkin and you get fall. n Super cute! Happy to see a video from you, you are in my thoughts often, I know what I am going through, so can't imagine all that is on your plate. Take care of yourself TOO!

hi Shel. I watched you and Peg do your pieces together but felt like watching this one too lol. I love primitive art, when I know I have to do something but don't feel like getting all realistic. it's cathartic for me. your pumpkin and black duck (lol) are fun. I enjoyed watching your process. thank you!

Shel I love these pages you are cranking out. So great. Got a question for you though and you are my gelli plate guru so I know you will know how to advise me. Thanks: I have always admired your talents with the gelli plate. I love playing on it also. question, how do you store them when you've lost the acetate covers and or the clam shells are damaged. I don't have any funds to go buy something so is there something you can recommended that this craft hoarder may have at home to use. Thank you so much. Oh, another question. I am noticing that my plates aren't working as well as they used to. No matter how many layers of thin top coat to pic up the residual but It's not getting hardly anything. I have all of my plates in the bath tub with a bunch of Murphys oil soap and then I'll gently rub them clean with my hands. Also I heard that you can condition your plates by using mineral oil or baby oil.???
@ShelCPaperOcotilloStudio2 жыл бұрын
Hi Lori. I converted all my plates into tin containers. I emptied a colored pencil tin and a few of the scribble stick ones..or whatever. Maybe a neocolor II one. Then I just put my crayons/pencils in a basket as it is easier for me to find the color that way. Then my gel plates go in those. keeps them flat and protected. To clean your plate use hand sanitizer. That stuff is on sale everywhere now. To clean and condition use baby oil. I just rub it on and off with paper towel.

Thanks so much Shel. Different subject, I found Inktense blocks, 24 set, brand new, no shipping, for $40.00 on Ebay. That's a good price isn't it?
