hey guys this time i get a good deal on an old out dated dirt modified racecar for the parts it has, but feeling guilty about sending it to the crusher and a buddy who wants to experience dirt racing...lets see if we can get this car running again for 1 last hoorah in the dirt

hey Chris, cool video! i lived in Vegas for a while in the early 80s on Tamarus Ave off Flamingo Rd. we lived in north Vegas for a short while, but moved when the neighborhood got ugly! i worked as an electrician at the Flamingo Hilton, & also at the Convention Center. work got slow so we moved back to Minneapolis. later moved to Az & lived there for almost 6 years. loved it b ut moved back to Mn when my wife & daughter had medical issues. i went to school in Oklahoma & used to watch the winged outlaws race on dirt! some fun ! went to some dirt track Harley 750 races in Phoenix, crazy circles in a pack at over 100MPH! also had a 72 440 charger in Glendale az. in my youth after Vietnam had a 340 demon, loved chrysler stuff! keep up the great content, good luck with the dinosaur!!!

The old car looks a lot like our asphalt mods did. But we had a 3 link plus panhard bar. Origionally had a crown vic front clip, swapped to a metric gm for less weight, then went to an impala clip. Ford windsor power

I heard your comment bout nascar it’s true. It’s dream guys if you look at nascar there are other forms of racing to check out. Now good friend of mine spent time trying to get a truck test or a Busch car test. Damn good driver never happened. 7-10 years as a late model driver. The money for circle track is nuts that you spend. I steer people to drag racing or road course. Awesome video on dirt cars and methanol.

You know what might be a good spot for your Cleveland? 2005-09 ish v6 mustang. They all have bad trannies 5r55. N there still un good shape, cheap n everywhere. And they look like a fastback 66-70 mustang

I hope you check the valve springs for rust . The methanol like you said attracts water and rust spots on the valve springs will cause them to break.

Leaf springs can be made to be closer to the link cars. All it takes is a little ingenuity and elbow grease. I would put more arc in the those leafs and run a lowering block to maintain the ride height. I can get it to lift the left front mid corner off.

Got a a question, I used to drag race some and mud race, we would mix 100 octane aviation fuel 50/50 with 93 pump gas, that was my race day mix. Aviation fuel is leaded so intake valve stems love it! Catalytic converters must be removed. Why don't other folks use it? Costs a lot but it burns hot, plugs burn white as rice! The only bad thing is when you go back to regular unleaded it's like you are dragging an anchor..

That fuel pump is very interesting, no rubber diaphragm to rot like a traditional mechanical pump and no electronic motor to burn up like an electric fuel pump. Probably the most reliable design.

Championship night 2015 I ran 20 laps with no water all I had was methanol and like 5 min to make grid call , well filled it up all the way with methanol I've never had an engine run so cool methanol in fuel tank and methanol in cooling system finish 2nd of 18 it was a good night

So, i worked at a small engine shop, they had a super outdated modified out back with a Chevelle clip. No motor. They were going to scrap it. I talked the owner into letting me throw an old truck 350 in it, and let me bash it around in a field before it went away. Ridiculous fun... Cant save em all, but at least they can go out with a bang instead of a whimper ...

The Petty racing experience, for $100 you could go to Petty racing school, drive last year's leftover race cars. Now that was 30 years ago. But you could have Junkerup Chris Birdsong dirt racing school and take an old shitty car and let folks dirt race without spending $10,000. Just think, The 2027 Nascar champ could say with $250 he got his start at Birdsong Racing!
