I've had better luck just making a solid steel motor mount you're not going to get that much vibration and it's going to take a lot more to crack metal than to break rubber

Chris I always usually watch your videos I got my learner's license and drove my car on the road for the first time it was a 68 charger RT 440 4-barrel torqueflite transmission column shifter it was burgundy with a black interior with a black tail stripe I remember it had that rear end with a hump in the back of it I kept it till I was 18 then traded it to a friend of mine for a 69 Camaro RS SS biggest mistake I ever made and I like old big boy your helper he's a good dog I really missed the one that used to bite the tailpipe see you on the next video your internet friend crispy critter😂

I welded a plate to the torsion support and welded the bolt in connectors what world of difference! I was pulling both tires after.

Chris, this is absolutely my favorite build on KZbin!!👍 You never cease to amaze me with your old school approach to using what you have to cobble something great together!!👏👏👏 But, I've gotta ask. How old were you in the photos with the black race truck? 😳

Those motor mounts are trash. My stock 318 Poly broke the left mount whilst racing down the track to an 11 second 1/8th mile sleep fest.

Beautiful survivor you've made road-worthy, dude! I would not have chosen those particular seats, but "to each his own", I say. Great, healthy sound and love the manual trans. Overall, I too live this philosophy, as I have a beautiful '68 Elky that I drive regularly, and then my '65 C10 shortbed now & then. Old Dailies= Great Memories!

I got tired of replacing rubber motor mounts in my 4 speed Demon way back when, so I took out the rubber and welded a spacer in between the two plates that used to sandwich the rubber in between them. I was told by several people that I wouldn't be able to stand the vibration being transmitted to the frame, but the noise level never changed between the two types of mounts in my application.

6:00 - Those aren't frame rail connectors - They're Kerb Sliders, so you don't ground the gearbox, tailshaft and exhaust when you're hopping kerbs to get away from the haters! 🤣😉 Interlocking mounts in rubber are worth it for EVERY classic. Your sway-bar link add-on will more then do for most driven toys, probably up to the sort of power that really needs an engine plate type mount.

A two-piece driveshaft will have higher resonant frequencies than a long single-piece shaft because the bits are shorter. I'll guess that the two bits are of unequal length so that their resonances, if you can reach them, won't happen at the same speed.

Anyone who is tired of looking at the General Lee is a woke limp wristed blue anti American. If you don't like the car, that's fine it's your choice. But if your here STFU keep your anti American opinions to yourself, or leave. Woke cry babies are not wanted here.😡

The only way of owning these kind of cars are.... dont have kids. or tie downs of any kinds... Spouse... come into some money or be born into wealth.. thats it.. even the days of finding them on the side of someones house or in a back field for a couple grand are long gone.. but when I see them go down the road its nice.
