A helpful hint so you don't have to hammer your fuel rail down onto your injectors is put a very thin amount of Dielectric grease on your O-rings and it should slide down over the injectors very easily. When you start hammering fuel rails down with your fist is when you start cutting O-rings. I hope that helps!!!!

When I worked at a Honda dealership, we got 2 CR-Vs K24Z7 which had no compression cylinder 3 on both. We came to the conclusion that both vehicles used the cheapest fuel grade causing pre-detonation on just that cylinder, eventually burning a hole in it. One of those engines made it into my garage after paying the $125 core charge and a few weeks later I got my hands on a K20Z3 Head for the $100 core charge. You should consider a K20Z3 Head K24Z7 Block build. 260hp all motor. Just an idea.

normally when putting on your timing cover, you should put your counterbalance on the crankshaft after you set the timing cover on, so it lines up perfectly in the front seal before you tighten down the timing cover. Also replacing the front seal on the timing cover is always a good thing to do as well when you have it off.

15:34 Recently had to do this on a KA24DE head. My solution was to fold thick cardboard over and stuff it in the combustion chamber below the valve, then set the head down on the towels. I used a 16MM socket and some magnets to pop the collets out, and after disassembly the head was cleaned and sent to the machine shop. I used painters tape to cover the head after milling (protect from scratches), and I used painters tape to secure the valves enough to flip the head over onto the towels. From there, the hammer blow breaks the tape, but the cardboard stops the travel. Instead of magnets in the socket for reinstallation, tho, I simply inserted the collets into the retainer, covered it with a quart storage bag, placed the socket over the plastic, then gave it a whack. The valve stem pokes through, but the collets get pushed evenly into seating.

Also your burnt valve is most likely a valve lash issue. Valve seats wear over time causing valve lash to get too tight and the valves hang open. Honda has maintenance schedule for valve adjustment.

funnily enough the valve issue you see is the same one i ran into on my D17A this january. this happens when the valves are adjusted such that there is not quite enough space between the rocker and the valve causing the exhaust valve to open too much and get too hot as a result. over time this will develop a crack and blow a hole. I replaced the head on my motor as a result of this because I lacked the tooling to fix the valve issue.

Those Honda crank boltd are insane. I had to do my timing set on a '05 Acura MDX and you're able to actually rent those free crank bolt adapter/tools from AutoZone or O'Reilly's. You just have to like put 20 or 50 bucks down and then you get it back when you give the tool back. But yeah I had me and a friend hanging on a three foot breaker bar that couldn't get it and I ended up buying a used air compressor tank for im 100 bucks (pre-COVID). Although it's a really nice and I'm glad I got it and then went to Lowe's and started with their 350 ft lb air wrench which didn't work. They let me return it and get the 500 but it didn't work. They let me return. It got their biggest one which was a 750 still wouldn't do it. So I'd heat it up with a little propane torch I had and then finally after cranking on it with the 750 impact wrench for a couple minutes it came loose. So those things are f****** insane and then when you use that tool I basically had to brace the other big ratchet against the subframe and it basically took me a whole weekend just to get that one bolt off. It was such a debacle
