All those square body Chevys/GMCs sitting in the scrapyard are breaking my heart. We need one of those "Feed The Children" type deals for those. "For just 50 cents a day, you can adopt a badass square body from the junkyard and give it a new life". Maybe we can get Sally Struthers to help out? 😁

I haven't been in a real junkyard like that in such a long time. Brings back memories of playing in the cars retired out to pasture on my Great Aunt's land in North Dakota. I remember a beautiful pink Cadillac. I loved playing around in it until a spider the size of my hand jumped on my leg from under the dashboard.

This was fantastic. I'm a 58 year old living in London and this took me back to when my old Dad used to take me to breakers yards. He would get hold of the part he needed then, he'd literally steal as many screws/washers/small items as he could and give them to me as he knew they'd never suspect an 8 year old kid! Times were hard you know.....

A story about the plaid valve covers on the GMC. Modifications and blue print engines were run there the production line. When an engine was 'line' modified , plaid valve covers were added too alert techs in the future.

Just love seeing your boneyard tours...brings back memories of looking for parts for my '65 Dodge Polara Sport...lol. It was my first car (back in 1978), got it for free, had to drag it out of the woods where it had sat for 5 years (maybe longer). Got it running pretty much on my own, then beat the crap out of it! Also, love seeing Slick 50 out there with you, you guys make a pretty damn good team. love to you and the family

Most of those obs trucks with coffee cup wood consoles, and body kits came out of a company in Texas. I had a maroon 92 extended cab stepside with the same body kit, seats and console. It was a 2wd with a brush guard, headache rack, and visor with 10 wide 15 inch eagle 5 spokes.

Was it by chance near Dallas? I inherited my dad's 89 Chevy Cheyenne stepside in 2000 when he passed. He bought it gently used from Young Chevrolet in 1989. I think the company may have been called Sterling, based on the plate on the glove box. It had everything you described.
