That would have been my pick of the yard as well, I think. Many years ago I bought a '69 bubbletop Vista for the engine for my then Cutlass. The rest of the Vista Cruiser eventually ended up in the junkyard. These were not that uncommon at the time, and I was a teenager in a time where wagons or anything with 4 doors was not cool. I did not realize how special these are. No car has haunted me more than that one.

Love these old car hoards but cant help think of how contaminated the soil must be. I saw many cars like i have had in that field , same colors even. Those mustangs had that rubber grill that contorts in extreme weather ! My firends Mom bought a 67 Chevy like that in purple and drove it through the 80's and parked in the backyard. A family member got it and cleaned it up and get it road worthy. It was quite weathered looking but a cool old car.

If you try to save these cars, to be definitively efficient against rust , you should put grease everywhere. grease is the only thing very efficient against rust. put grease between metal and carpet, inside door, behind metallic bumper, under the vehicle, behind the repairs you can make (everywhere inside the body - hidden erea - instead of using paint), hollow areas (necessarily hidden, so no need to be aesthetic). For rear wings unreachable with a paintbrush, use an extender and poor old oil everywhere each year. Rust almost always comes from the inside and welds. Handyman Experience - 35 years. From france

So many old American, European and Japanese iron gone, Glad they ended up saving some of these while the others are gonna get crushed and thus recycled into something new (guaranteed it's not gonna be something what would someone would like). Sometimes you save what you can save, and there's some you can't not save as most of these are rusted to an oblivion. Now i wanna try to think of these vehicles will come back as a virtual replica in some sort of game or CGI replica or whatever i could think of seeing them before they were crushed and turned into some freakin EV like a KIA or those Teslas, i just got to think of what they used to look like before they became an unlikable KIA or Tesla. Pretty much every older vehicle these days are gonna get harder to find, and the fact that EV vehicles are gonna get more popular or something is something that i consider ridiculous.. Save what you can, and if there is anything that can't be saved, it's gotta go, i hate it when it happens, once it's destroyed, it's lost and gone forever and will never be made again, it hurts really bad, and it's such a shame, but what's got to be done, has to be done. Guess this video (and probably some other videos about this junkyard) will serve as a memory to what those vehicles used to look to like before the crusher.
