I did the same years ago. I didn't care what it was, I set out to find any 30s, 40s, 50s car what was complete to learn mechanics on. Ended up with a Plymouth Cranbrook that was parked away when its original owner died and just left to rot in a cow shed since the JFK era. Was able to follow repair manuals and youtube videos while having absolutely zero expeirience working on a car (but knew most of what everything was). Got the car inspected and running and driving. Took me about 3 months because I was learning as I went, and of course doing something wrong then having to re-do it again dozens of times. The engine block and cylinders were all in great shape and no problems, so it was safe to do a running restoration on it without doing a full teardown. The hardest thing was getting the cow odor out of the interior, lol it took sooooo long to get that clean. I can;t say I'd have the same success with a modern car with all the computer mumbo jumbo, but I at least have the confidence to try :)

It looks to be pretty well put together from the video. I think you two should bring it all the way back. Headliner, working AC, etc. The 35's look great on it. Picture it with Cadillac quality and a set of steer horns on the hood like "Boss Hogg's". I would go so far as using Cadillac hubcaps and cutting holes in the front ones for access to the hubs! Of course this is just my opinion.

Sweet ride. My Mom is 72, and I am looking a going to the bar on Sat/ Church on Sunday rig for her. She is a pretty strong old girl, so power steering isn't that important. But the AC is a must. She sweats a lot without it. Can't have her going to church with a hangover all sweaty. So if you get the AC working, I would be interested in buying this sweet ride.

My favorite kind of video: a Cadillac. This is extra special since they really went the extra mile to wire everything up inside and make it pretty much OEM as possible. That’s awesome. I’m wondering if the audio issue was caused by how loud the car is 😂 the microphone tried to cope and just couldn’t lmao

Thank you for another most excellent episode! I do not have a cel phone and sadly the Raycons would only be an expensive paper weight for me. Still, I appreciate them for sponsoring your efforts! I remember when GM released these eye sore Cadillacs. My dad and I were travelling to visit my Great Uncle and we saw quite a few of them on the freeways. Both of us thought that they were butt ugly looking with the abbreviated trunk. When we arrived at my Great Uncle's house he was all to eager to show us his new Cadillac.... Guess what model it was. I will admit that the ride in it was like a magic carpet sliding across a glass highway down the not so smooth California freeways... But still, the profile of it, that shrunk trunk.... Gawd aweful!

Next time, try running a long screw through the locking gas cap. The screw will lock the two parts together and it will just turn normally. As for the bustle back Seville, it was GM's second attempt at this style, the first being the 1978 Cutlass. Ford also got into this questionable styling trend with the Lincoln Continental and Chrysler didn't want to be left out with it's iteration, I believe it was the Imperial.

Edelbrock (Carter) quick on-the-car idle circuit fix: remove the idle mixture screws completely. Stick the red tube on a can of carb cleaner into the screw holes and blast all the grit and debris out of the idle circuits. Reinstall the screws and bottom out gently. Back out 2 turns, start, and fine tune the mixture.
