Hah-gah-nay. Sakura is guitarist composer, and started Hagane in 2018. Bassist Sayaka also writes, she did Hero Time. The band lost three members in 2022, including then drummer Kanako. Sakura and Sayaka knew Junna. Junna joined, then they brought singer Nagi in. Sakura is an incredible shredder on guitar.

Check out 'Hero time and 'life goes on' by them. They are incredible. Junna's drumming sounds like thunder on 'Hero time.' This band is going places. 'Hag-an-neh.' Sayaka on base, Sakura guitar and their new singer 'Nagi'...an incredible singer.

JUNNA is the best drummer, but there are very few bands that can handle her. The band needs a beastly player who can match JUNNA. They need to be able to write songs that make full use of JUNNA's abilities. If the band is too serious or too pop, Junna's flashy performance will destroy it. HAGANE is perfect. Sakura is a beastly guitarist and a songwriter who writes stormy songs.

I'm totaly agree with you! Junna is awesome, HAGANE is such a great band. There's also a very good Japanese drummer listen the band Lovebites, this girls are ok beautiful but very talented👍

Thank you for featuring Hagane (pronounced HA-ga-neh). They have to be considered one of the hot, up and coming groups, though they had to go through a major reboot in 2023. They were originally a five-piece with dual leads; they have recently re-formed as a four piece (more on that below). The initial lineup came together in 2018, just as they were all finishing high school. Founding guitarist Sakura had been posting metal covers on youtube since she was 14, and gained notoriety as a technical beast with a taste for ferocious shredding. That is how most of the other band-members found her. Original lineup: Vocal: Chiemi Guitar : Sakura Yoshida (also writes and arranges most of the music) Guitar : Mayto Bass : Sayaka Drum : Kanako Takahashi (b. 2001) In 2019, Chiemi left and was replaced by Uyu. The band released three concert DVDs and a full-length album (“Code 9021”) during her tenure. In early 2023, the band announced the departures of three members-Uyu, Mayto and Kanako. They spent the next year rebuilding. They have re-formed as a four-piece, with the already famous Junna on drums. Junna was previously one of the original members of Kakumei (later rebranded as Trident), and has a popular youtube channel where she posts hyperactive solo drum covers of metal songs. New vocalist Nagi has replaced Uyu. This is her first professional gig. Hagane 3.0: Guitars: Sakura Bass: Sayaka Drums: Junna Vocals: Nagi Hagane are clearly playing in a similar space as groups like Mary’s Blood, Bridear, Nemophila and Lovebites-melodic, hard, heavy and technical. Early on, however, they developed their own signature sound, built around exotic scales, syncopated rhythms and the aforementioned high-octane shredding. Their songwriting is mature, far beyond what you should be able to expect from a bunch of people this young. The new lineup have released an EP, “Life Goes On”, with five tracks including an instrumental. Despite not having the dual attack, it looks like they haven’t lost a step-Junna is insane as ever on drums, and Sakura is just on fire. Soft Japanese steel to be more specific. That’s the reason all Japanese katana are required to be constructed from hagane in order to be legally sold in the country. Any weapons made from harder metal are illegal.

First, Hagane is phoneticized as "Hah - gah - neh." Second, can they allow Junna to put her logo on her bass drum. Third, these ladies seriously rock. What is in the water in Japan which makes them produce so many great all female bands?

In Japan? Universal music education. Every year new talents emerge from high schools.

@@DavidKAnderson As far as I read, in elementary school they teach the basics of music theory, in middle school - the basics of playing instruments and the basics of an orchestra. And in high school there are already extracurricular clubs where groups are formed. In addition, there are experimental schools with a musical focus, such as the Yamaha Corporation network of schools. In addition, many stars come to schools to give demonstration lessons in playing, singing, dancing

Love it, a real super-group but I do wonder if their sound might be augmented with a rhythm guitarist. They kind of fill the musical gap between Lovebites and Band Maid in some respects. Would be great if two from those three could tour together….
