In this video, we explore the new images of Io taken by NASA’s Juno spacecraft during its closest flyby in over 20 years, and we learn how they could change our view of this fascinating moon. We also discuss the main objectives and achievements of the Juno mission, which is orbiting Jupiter since 2016 and studying its structure, atmosphere, magnetosphere, and moons. We see how Juno managed to get so close to Io, what it saw and measured, and what it means for our understanding of Io’s geology, volcanism, and interactions with Jupiter.

The average orbital height of the ISS is around 250 miles, far less than Juno's flyby of Io at 930 miles above the Jovian moon's surface, as stated in the video.

It would be interesting to understand the reason that IO still spins. If there is a reason Io is not tidally locked with Jupiter. May allow us to know if exo planets orbiting red dwarf stars are actually tidally locked to their stars. Since most of the small rocky planrts we have found are touted to show just the one face to their star. If we had a way of knowing more definitely what is happening with these exo planets it would add to the focus placed on certain planets. Io could tell us a lot about that idea. Maybe

Unfortunately, I believe this information is wrong. Io *_is_* locked in a synchronous orbit.

Outstanding art work in this video. Don’t know if anyone will agree with me, but if one looks at the image of geography and lava flows at ( 2:17 ), you can kind of make out a giant gorilla half buried on its side in the image.

In My opinion Our Solar System's The MOST Interested and Amazed Moons are Jupiter's Moons like Ganymede Biggest Moon of Jupiter, Kallisto Third Biggest Moon of Our Solar System, Io Third Biggest Moon of Jupiter and Europa Smallest Moon of Jupiter. As named by Leo Galileo Galilei Who Found those Jupiter's Moon in 1600 is My Idol and Favourite Astronomer in History of a World's Sky Watchers. Defienitily this Video's Moon Io Where Nasa's Spacecraft Juno is and get a new View and Europa what is The MOST Amazed Moon in Our Whole Solar System because as an European in Northen Europe's Finland, LOVE it's name Europa but The MOST Interested Things about of Europa are because It might have an Ice and an Ocean under it what's Possible for even a Microscopic Life. Only Our Solar System The Small Piece of Our Milkyway Galaxy what's just a Small Piece of Our Big, Scary, Amazing and Beautiful soundless Void Our Universe. Happy New Year 2024 Everyone! 🌌☀️🌎🌍🌏🪐🌑🌕🛰🌠

How quickly do the images reach NASA, once taken by Juno? If Juno takes another fly-by, is it possible it could take on enough radiation so's to cause the ship to fail? How much warnin' would NASA get abt such an event and would be recoverable? Is it possible, given the new info, that people would ever be able to visit/live on IO? TY.

Respectfully then: @4:23 I have serious concerns about your fact checking for this video. The ISS orbits within 400km or 250mi of Earth, LESS THAN A THIRD of the 900 and some stated as Juno's approach to Io. Given the ease one can check this with it's a glaring error.
@Snowwie88
@Snowwie88 4 ай бұрын
4:31 - That's an incorrect statement that Juno came closer to IO than the ISS is orbiting Earth. ISS orbits at roughly 408 km above Earth's surface, way less than the 1,500km which was stated for Juno closest approach to IO. Why must the Juno mission end? Can't they place the spacecraft in orbit around IO?

No new images...all images were either older or grainy or both. Narration repeated itself several times. Overall, it was a waste of time watching...hoping for somewhere something new to be shown without such. Talked about comparing current surface features, volcanism with past features, volcanism...without giving a single photo showing this. At 900 miles some amazing details should be available, but not in this video. Talked about night-side volcanism but didn't show a single erupting volcano, or glowing lava flow...just another example of social media hype.
