These pre-painted kits are great when you get into one of those “model slumps”. I bought the Levin after you had done a video on it, and I loved everything about it. Though I did put custom wheels on it and lower it, it was a blast. Gonna have to look for this Silvia now! Keep up the excellent work!👍

Right now I'm going the complete opposite direction, building one of my most custom models to date. I kind of love and kind of hate the process. It's fun doing it exactly how you want it, but it takes months. Maybe one of these kits will be in my future after I'm done with the current kit. Always a pleasure watching your videos!

Hello Jun. I really enjoy your videos, and you do a great job wish your commentaries. Personally, I would not want to build a pre-painted kit: the production standards look to be very high, and the end result looks good, but it seems to me to be too like a toy rather than a carefully crafted piece of work reflecting the skills and patience of the builder. Ideally, would love to be able to build models from scratch, but that is not practical with my skill levels, so it has to be kit based. Having said that, anything that encourages people to try their hand at building a model rather than just playing games on a computer has to be encouraged. Your video introduced me to this kit and buying it. Today I finished it. It was a fun kit, but assembling the front bumper was quite a nightmare, especially this is my first build using the cement glue. The spoiler was also hard to set up but I managed to set it up. Thanks for the video!

The pre-painted kits look great for sure and are good as long as you don't mind building box stock or with some minor difference like ride height and wheels. I know the paint, sand and polish process is such a hassle but sometimes when it is finished you get that real sense of accomplishment but on the other hand, as you say, this is amazing if you are in a slump. I think you can find these for decent prices from a few of the Japanese web shops and as long as you are importing a few kits at once, the shipping is not too bad.

Great point and I agree with you. It’s a great starter kit with all those painted parts ready for assembly and experienced modelers will also find it enjoyable to put together. I really like them. I would definitely buy again if I can find them at a good price👍

those C pillar mold lines are very common on Revell/AMT muscle car kits... Very cool though!

i built this 2 years back. the gloss finish is pretty good. there are some mold lines. difficult part is gluing the front bumper without messing the paint. the suspension is also tricky to assemble even with superglue.

I don’t think I’d get the same satisfaction out of doing a pre-painted kit, but would love to do one every now and then to get a break from masking windows and window/door molding. I usually do a few models back to back in a short period, but get burnt out due to the masking and wet polishing and then don’t touch another model for months.

These prepainted kits are just too rare and hard to find now. I had to search on eBay actively for a good one with good price. When Aoshima sold them they were not that expensive. But when they were out of stock. The only place we can buy them will be from private collectors. Which explains why they are more expensive.
