Guthrie’s live version of the song (imho) doesn’t even touch the recording. It’s his song he can do what he likes I guess. Plus live shows can’t and shouldn’t be perfect recreations of said recordings. With that being said, that kid knocked it out of the park. To the last detail good. Even pulled the string off the fret to get that extra sharp bend at the end. Damn near flawless.

I think that crowd had no idea - none - of what it was witnessing. An immaculate cover of an amazing song. You guys are inspiring. Thank you for the many hours of practice that lies behind this great performance. Drive Home is one of my favorite songs ever recorded and I never thought that a live version of it - including Stephen Wilson's own version in Chile that's on KZbin - could touch me the way the original recording did. But you guys have done it. This is beautiful, beautiful art.

She had a touch too much cut-through for me. The original song is about the sadness of a tragic event and the slow recovery phase from grief and shock. Steven Wilson's voice is a lot mellower and 'lives out' the subject matter better IMO. This is still a very good version.
