I have fond memories playing this game with my nephews. Giant board and plastic dinosaurs. You can't go wrong.

Hi, yes I definitely like the spooky games! I do have that game but haven't gotten to reviewing it yet. Maybe this Halloween....

Beautiful box art, I was looking at this board game just the other day on ebay, wondering how it would play and if it would be worth adding to the collection, behold! Attic Raiders dose a review. It's strange that Dinosaur miniatures were made but not the character miniatures as the cardboard standee's are boring, ugly and easily lost. The game has a lot of area to add in house rules like character abilities, movement, combat, new dinosaur types, having the players needing to collect Items around the map so they are more likely to explore the Island, like food, water, key cards to enter the maintenance sheds, fuel for helicopter ect, Finally look at replacing the ugly cardboard standee's with HO scale people (18mm/20mm) the location buildings could also be replaced with N or HO scale buildings.

I guess kids just like dinosaurs more - not many children would bug their parents to buy a game so they could get a plastic mini of Alan Grant, but they might to get some raptors! Agreed though, I'm not a fan of the cardboard standees. Yep, lots of scope for house rules - there is a set of fan instructions on Board Game Geek which include a lot of what you've mentioned, but I've not tried playing it with those rules.

I had this game a long time ago. Unfortunately had no one to play with it, as I was the odd one who liked board games. Eventually all my dinosaurs broke off their stand, lol

I had that in 90s

I used to own this game as a kid! Got it for Christmas in 1993. I used to play this game all the time with my siblings and cousins. After watching this video its hilarious how terrible the gameplay was lol

Great review! It’s not one I’ve seen, but not interested in obtaining. Thanks for the info! :D

agreed Mark. lots of missed opportunities with this one. I'd like to see someone come up with some interesting house rules involving those port spaces to see if it would improve the game. and speaking of things that didn't live up to their potential.....hello Benardo

There are house rules in a doc on Board Game Geek which expand it a lot, but I've not tried playing with they yet.

After 30 years, this is the first time seeing how this game was actually played. I received it for Christmas back in 93 even though I didn't ask for it. 12 year old me at that time had zero interest in board games as all my friends and I were into console gaming. I gave it to my younger brother who repurposed the board as a play mat for his Hot Wheels vs the dinosaurs. So it wasnt a complete waste in the end. Found this video as I finally wanted to find out how this game was played after having a conversation about Christmas presents we got, but didn't like. This game was unfornately it for me. Enjoyed watching this video and seeing that gorgeous box art again after all these years.

Yeah it is. Hasbro bought Milton Bradley in 1984 and Parker Brothers in 1991, so they were both own by Hasbro at the time, but it is odd that they released the same game under two different company names.

love the review, but remember, you dont have to manufacter this game, you dont have to get it printed, just stand there and comment on its faults. if you were getting it made, you would do the same as them, its about the cost.
@AtticRaidersRetroReviews Жыл бұрын
Is there a fault that I've pointed out that you disagree with? The game could have been tackled many different ways - see The Lost World board game for how it can be done better. :)

@@AtticRaidersRetroReviews no no no. i totally agree with you about the faults, my point is, we dont have to make them, i ment...i bet we would do things the same. nevermind, my bad....also, have you ever thought about reviewing an old game called agi cup by john deer. ?
