Big fan of your painting style, wondering if you’d make a video assembling or kit bashing a frostgrave war band? Or maybe you’ve done that already, I’ve only just found your channel. Enjoying myself so far though, keep up the good work!

I’ve done a few videos assembling Stargrave kits, but no Frostgrave ones (though I have a sprue of every kit released sitting in unbuilt). I’ll definitely consider it.

This is a really good “my first kitbash” kind of project: variety animal minis are cheap, they’re larger, and you can just mix up anything since you’re making alien creatures.
@AtticRaidersRetroReviews5 күн бұрын
Definitely! The creatures tend to come out a bit on the large side for 28mm gaming, but given that they're aliens then they could conceivably be any size. It's also really easy to find animal toys in most shops or second hand.

What a cool video. Very educational on painting and miniature assembly techniques. Not to mention that it conveys the game's atmosphere well. It shows that not everything needs to be governed by the lens of war and destruction, there are miniatures games that can explore other fields. I hope to see more videos in this atmosphere. Thanks.

Thanks. :) Yes, one of the reasons I love Alien Zoology is that it's pretty unique in that you're not just trying to kill things - or each other! Even in the Multiplayer mode there's still etiquette to a degree - you can sabotage your opponent's team, but you can't actually shoot at them or fight them. I'd be interested to find more unique games!

How have you been? It's been ages. Hope you had a great summer with board games to review. This is the first I've heard of a Centipede board game. Good 80's take.

I think it would be pretty easy to get the spinner to spin freely. Pull it apart and trim the casting edges, smooth it out, etc.

This is was one of my favourite Halloween books as a child. Unfortunately and it's falling apart over the years and most of the pop-ups don't work that well. I would love to find a replacement copy to share with my children one day.

Wow for a game from the early 80's when there weren't really complex games (not that this is 'complex') and for a kids game the game had some clever mechanics. I know there wouldn't be a demand for a Berzerk game now probably but I could see how this would be cool updated a bit..and add in those 3D walls and make the wall placement random

After finding this video, I went on ebay and found the game, bought it, played it and it worked fine. It was even missing 1 1/2 of the little guys, but it burst perfectly every time. #nostalgiafix ❤😊

Omg this game was the best! Similar to Buckaroo (which I was terrified of) this was far more fun and much less traumatic. Brought back so many memories of playing this with my Dad. 🥲

Getting paint to work on this plastic is tricky. A somewhat hazardous method I have had some success with is to give them a quick scrub with acetone. This will remove the sheen and make the surface more adherable (?) to paint. Heavy clear coat after you are done is a good idea to secure your artistry when done. Experiment on a sprue and least favorite figure to see what is takes.

Good review! I’m a Napoleonic gamer or any game from 1680 to 1865. From Horse foot & guns to Sharp Practice. I’ve played Traveler to make weight (cannon fodder) in a game with regular gamers. However looking at the model figures I could probably build 2 factions but I don’t know how many figures are needed for a game. As there appears to be scenarios in the rule book so to start gaming what is the bare minimum that I will need to play all the figures in these scenarios. I can’t find this in any videos. Are there any ship to ship battles or just on world engagements?

Nice thing about these is, you don't actually need bases. They stand well on their own.

how would these scale with imperial guard/ astra militarium size minis? before/after them on a 25mm base?? awesome video!!
@standandelivery2 ай бұрын
They would be quite small. 1/72 vs 1/28 or 1/32 depending on the model. Something between half and 1/3rd smaller.
@Spacetrucker1382 ай бұрын
@@standandelivery Thanks for the info, I save my money then, I was thinking it might have been a issue where some miniatures base their scale on the vehicles can't really explaine what im tring to say, anyways thanks a ton.
@standandelivery2 ай бұрын
@@Spacetrucker138 they don't mix very well unless its wargs or something like that are out of scale with the 20mm anyway. As he stated in the vid. But 20mm isn't bad at all, it scales pretty well with common toy cars, the ones that are a little bigger than hot wheels or matchbox that you see around. At least I seem to find lots of cheap tanks and jeeps and trucks that scale well with my 20s anyway. If you're playing stuff like bolt action or chain of command but want a smaller scale these work well. And they're cheeeeap. I know you didn't ask about al that, but I figured I'd share. Good day!!

This still gets to the table regulalry - it is perfect for decompressing after a more complex game. It plays nice and quick and encourages banter and oppurtunites to get revenge on whoever won the big game. Great review video
