Thank you for bringing me back in my memory land!! You are a very charming host!!! BTW.. I could do without Reptile games. One game used to give me nightmares was a game called SNAKES ALIVE. (I don't want to talk about it!!)

I have 2 copies of 80s version because I cannot find the 90s version. I would play the 80s version adapting the 90s Rules.

I played the 86 version as a kid. After a gap of many years we started playing it again with my nephews. I thought the dolphin protected you from a shark but not the sea serpent, a dolphin could carry you all the way home if you use all three moves at once and the people were dumped straight into the water when removing a piece of land. Either my version is slightly different from yours or I'll have to re-read the rules.

I Brought this game from ebay with no original balloons. The Mechanics in this game remind me of The Golden Egg from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Where if you open it and not put it underwater, it lets out a horrible, horrible screech.

Mate I remember these books so well as a kid! I absolutely loved them. Any idea where I could buy some decent copies for my son? We live in the states. You may also want to try Haunted House by Jan Pienkowski

All of the copies that I've picked up have come from eBay. Been pretty lucky with condition. I'm on the look out for Haunted House, but yet to come across one in the wild. It's been reprinted a number of times, but I'd like to get a vintage copy.

@AtticRaidersRetroReviews I have one but it's pretty beat up from my escapades as a kid, just like my copies of the Keith Moseley books are! I am going to try to find some better copies of the Moseley books.

This was great, thanks for doing this series. it was really cool to be able to revisit these books which had previously sort of lurked around, semi-remembered, in my sub-conscious. And to get to see the ones that I never had as well.

I have found a copy here in the Philippines cost me £6.5 (₱500) including shipping to my province. I looked for a KZbin video about this game and this is the only one I can find. And I'm so happy about this review. Very well put review and tutorial.

Had to rewrite this comment cuz KZbin’s auto censorship didn’t like some words I guess. Wish this had more views, this was very interesting. I never knew where the original characters came from as a kid. I just bought this board game again for $45 plus shipping and my wife’s kids have been playing on it nonstop. I told them I was younger than they are now when I first played it in 1992 and it was my favorite board game besides Dark Tower (which is too pricey for me to get at $200-300 😢) Did you ever happen to do a game review video for the omega virus?
@AtticRaidersRetroReviews
@AtticRaidersRetroReviews Ай бұрын
Yes I'd love Dark Tower myself, but only if I can ever find it at an affordable price! I have not reviewed Omega Virus yet, but I'd recommend checking out Luke's review of it over on Down From The Attic if you've not seen it yet.

Mark, congratulations - I take it you completed your collection of this queasy quartet. As for this book in particular: Hardcore, isnʼt it? Thereʼs a sense of lingering existential dread and fatalism unusual in fare for the kiddies. Looking forward to the next haunting installment!

Yes, I finally tracked down Deep, Dark Dungeon for a decent price (for some reason it’s usually 4 times dearer than any of the others). Then of course I had to spend a good chunk of time repairing the bent mechanisms in it! Story-wise, this is probably my favourite of the 4. Part 2 coming tomorrow!

What I would do with the alien pod mission is number each pod 1-9. Each number would correspond to a specific alien. That way each alien type only turns up once.

Lots of washing up liquid and very hot water, soak for a while to let the water cool to a point where you won't scald yourself and scrub HARD with a nail brush, scrub again in plain water to shift soap, dry and spray with matt varnish, then paint as normal with a heavy matt varnish to finnish. If keeping the integral base, score with a knife or roughen with sandpaper before gluing.

Big fan of your painting style, wondering if you’d make a video assembling or kit bashing a frostgrave war band? Or maybe you’ve done that already, I’ve only just found your channel. Enjoying myself so far though, keep up the good work!

This is a really good “my first kitbash” kind of project: variety animal minis are cheap, they’re larger, and you can just mix up anything since you’re making alien creatures.
@AtticRaidersRetroReviews
@AtticRaidersRetroReviews Ай бұрын
Definitely! The creatures tend to come out a bit on the large side for 28mm gaming, but given that they're aliens then they could conceivably be any size. It's also really easy to find animal toys in most shops or second hand.

What a cool video. Very educational on painting and miniature assembly techniques. Not to mention that it conveys the game's atmosphere well. It shows that not everything needs to be governed by the lens of war and destruction, there are miniatures games that can explore other fields. I hope to see more videos in this atmosphere. Thanks.

Thanks. :) Yes, one of the reasons I love Alien Zoology is that it's pretty unique in that you're not just trying to kill things - or each other! Even in the Multiplayer mode there's still etiquette to a degree - you can sabotage your opponent's team, but you can't actually shoot at them or fight them. I'd be interested to find more unique games!
