There’s so much to say about this scene, but I’m gonna say this: it is arguably one of, if not *the*, most important scenes in cinema history. This scene showed just how powerful and how realistic CGI had become to the world and more importantly to filmmakers. Thousands, tens of thousands, of people suddenly realized that all those movies that they’d always wanted to make but couldn’t because the technology didn’t exist to make them in any satisfying way, were shown in the most dramatic way that it was *finally possible*. This is a scene that made a million dreams instantly come true, or at least become possible.

Perfectly timing the peak of the music right as the dinosaurs feet hit the ground... is why i like the movie more that the book. John Williams score is what put this movie into the stratosphere.

If you need to define what "Movie Magic" Means, this is the scene. It transports you to a world that few could even imagine, with little but the incredible visuals and transcendent music. Still makes me cry like a baby.

Dr Grant while pointing: "Uhm.. It's... It's a dinosaur". Probably my favorite line ever. This clip still gives me tears in my eyes so many years after watching the movie for the first time. Magical moment.

My favorite line is "they do move in herds" like imagine dedicating your whole life to answering a question and all you can ever do is make an educated guess based on some select samples you spent months carefully digging up. All of the sudden, it's right there in front of you.

Modern audiences cannot appreciate how just how amazing this scene is/was. By today’s technology standards, this may not be impressive. But in 1993? We had NEVER scene anything like this. What was just pictures and words in a book was suddenly alive and more beautiful and moving than we had ever imagined. Find me a Gen Xer that doesn’t love this. Go ahead. I’ll wait.

This film got me through my parents separation when I was 6. This film gave me an interest that followed me through my darkest periods. This film, in spite of its age, still makes me feel like I did when I was 6, when the world was simple. All I can say for all of that is thank you to all the minds behind it.

The brachiosaur was my favorite one when I was a kid because of this movie, so many years later when Spielberg produced his show Terra Nova on FOX and I saw Zoey feeding the brachiosaurus, I just started bawling because it took me right back to loving anything with dinosaurs, sitting in front of the television playing with my toy brachiosaurus while watching The Land Before Time. It's stuff like this that's just magical to see

I was seven years old when I saw this in theaters. I was twenty-seven when I saw it again in theaters, and I still felt the same amount of awe and joy--I just cried when I saw it at twenty-seven, because I appreciated it all the more with the music. The childlike wonder doesn't fade. And Dr. Alan Grant's line about herds still hits home if you truly know and understand why he said it the way he did. This film will always be a masterpiece.
