This game was actually released very late into the SNES life cycle where most developers have been more or less familiarized with the SNES hardware capabilities and was made mostly solely to cash-in on the Jurassic Park IP from the massive blockbuster success of the first Jurassic Park movie. By then, 3D gaming from more newer consoles from the likes of the original PlayStation and N64 was already starting to dominate.

I always thought that this game had a much better premise than "The Lost World" (the movie): an all-out war between Biosyn and InGen over control of the run-down park and dinosaurs is a great idea, although I cannot see Dr. Grant going Rambo against a bunch of mercenaries. Considering that the movie sequel didn't even follow Crichton's novel save for the basic idea of Malcolm going to Isla Sorna (which, ironically, features a similar scenario to the game, only on a much smaller scale: Biosyn and Dodgson are back to steal dino eggs), they could've just gone with a completely original premise without even asking the author to write a literary sequel first especially since, unlike the movie version, "Jurassic Park" had a much more definitive (and darker) ending.

@solesoulsorrow12 күн бұрын
The ammo on one side is non-lethal. The ammo on the other side is lethal. The herbivores he is shooting are not being killed, just put to sleep. The tranquilized herbivores aren't processed any longer due to the limited processing power at the time. So it just _looks_ like he is killing them. If you look up at his counters, you'll see the number "100" with a dinosaur photo next to it. Many gamers didn't realize what was happening, but if you killed a certain number of herbivores that counter would dip and the game would suddenly end.
