When you go to Universal Studios Hollywood and pay for the VIP Experience (200$dlls) they take you to a warehouse full of all the props that has been used in every single Universal Pictures movies and they actually let you see\touch this props, and you can even rent them for any uses!!

if you pause at the moment when dodgson makes the mechanism pop up in front of nedry, you can see the screen used prop actually had a flat bottom. I suspect all shots that had the concave bottom were using a real can of shaving cream.

@babyblueknowwho Good question! Considering the guy who made the original prop on the Blu Ray used this replica - maybe Spielberg or someone high up in Universal? It's never been spotted in any museum to my knowledge. The Universal Displays were replicas too, but less screen accurate than these.

The cryocan DID have a concave bottom and a cone piece between the two discs. That John Bell has bad memory of his prop details.

If I ever make my own cryocan replica, I don't think I'll make it spring loaded, because I like to preserve stuff in as pristine a condition as possible. Besides, I think just being able to put real vials of dye into the slots is cool and functional enough.

Silly question but can you use any barbasol can to make the outer shell? Reason being is you mentioned Rylo (I'm also a prop maker on the RPF) removed the bottom. Are these particular cans pressurised because I don't fancy blowing my arm off trying to remove the bottom of the can :O

Is yours pretty scratched up like mine? I don't know how often you put on or take off the outer can on yours, but I've only done that 3 times with mine and now the aluminum shows light scratches, and nicks. Probably not a big deal, but it is annoying.

i was curious in the film it showed that it sprays real shaving cream as a check though customs thats what dotson said to nedry how come rylo couldnt have done that to make it 100% original i mean i think this is great but im one of those guys that are all the way original when it come to props my friend bob morsley made a 100% screen acurate delorean time machine with working neon and has got a battery system in the trunk/ hood of the car that powers it all
