Jurassic Sea Shells in the DESERT!? Fossils ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE! Hunting the Pryors with my Family

In this one, we head out to the amazing Pryor Mountains in Montana to hunt for fossils! The site we are hunting sits upon a Jurassic shallow sea, loaded to the max with gryphaea oysters, belemnites, corals, clam shells, crinoids, calcite, selenite, agates, and jaspers! There is absolutely no shortage of incredible finds to be found on the oyster beds!!! As if that wasn't good enough, we packed two different hunts in one video! And as if THAT wasn't good enough, I am joined by my whole family for the first time! Unfortunately we were chased off early by 100+ degree temperatures, but even with what little time we had we found enough treasures for everyone! After getting back to the shop, we go through and clean some of our fossils with muriatic acid and watch them absolutely transform! I hope you all enjoy this one and I will see you all in the next one!

That area began your interest at age 6 and you've probably done the same for at least one of the kids out with you on this trip. What fun to have your family along! Hands down, the jaspers are the stars for me! Thanks for enduring the heat and chaos to make this great video!

I saw you pick up the Devil’s toenail and all of a sudden it came to my mind that it would make a really interesting little hat for a gnome or a miniature a Viking helmet would you like to cover make things out of stones and shells it’s OK to use that idea or you can make another dragon and use those toenails is the nails on the dragon

Hi Theo. Great video! I grew up in Imperial Valley, CA where there are petrified oyster beds. The oysters themselves are huge and the amount of oysters in the beds are plentiful. Looks like you all had fun days! 💚

....jus' look at em i 'spose😶😂🤣 they just make for some cool specimens once they get cleaned up; they unfortunately dont serve as much of a purpose as bearpaw fossils for example. More so just fun to find and know you have a 200 million year old oyster in your hands😄and yes!😂absolutely more rare than hen's teeth!🤣

I need to use muriatic acid more in my repertoire. The stop-motion was cool! We have a ton of places in Texas that are gryphaea jackpots but, if I'm honest, I've never really liked them that much. Maybe I should re-evaluate! Y'all sure did find a lot of great stuff! Sorry the weather's debilitating us all this summer...it sucks.

Great video, mate, seems you had a lot of fun. Just one thing - belemnites are not outside shells of squid-like creatures, the guard was inside the soft body, more or less like today's cuttlefish bones
