If there's a lesson here, I'd say it's this: between stuff like Force Awakens and Jurassic World, STOP falling for the "soft reboot" shtick. Soft reboots are nothing more than a consumer friendly pass for uncreative hacks to ride the success of more talented people and popular IPs to get a quick buck. Meanwhile, once they get that quick buck, they're boxed into making sequels and further developing stories they had no real ideas for to begin with. Demand new, innovative work from the "creatives", people!

Doing press for the new film Jurassic World: Dominion, director Colin Trevorrow appeared in CinemaBlend’s official ReelBlend podcast and spoke about the importance of that scene. Basically, from what he tells us, that was supposed to be the opening sequence of his sequel… until it wasn’t. Trevorrow explained: "That is the beginning of the film. That is the first five minutes. And it always was, up until we reached a point, I would say a year ago, when it started to become clear that the first act was a long first act. Because we were introducing two parallel storylines at the same time that all needed the beats of a first act within them. It was kind of heartbreaking, to be honest. To me, it is the first five minutes of the movie. And someday, I know people will have the opportunity to see it that way."

Honestly I’m not really sure why people are upset with the plot because technically what more can you do with Jurassic park that haven’t been done already. I’m genuinely surprised the franchise lasted this long because every movie is pretty much the same but it was just edging closer and closer to dinosaurs living amongst us. I don’t see humans coexisting with them because honestly it’ll look like a modern day Flintstones which would probably look goofy. I love the Jurassic park franchise but it’s not much more then can do plot wise and I don’t understand how people didn’t see the little girl would become one of the main focus points because in the last movie it was revealed that she was a clone herself,she’s more profitable then the dinosaurs at this point because every chance they tried making weapons out of the Dino’s didn’t work out so now having the ability to successfully clone humans seems like something they can control more. Idk I haven’t seen the latest movie but the last movie told you what the next one was gonna be about and damn sure wasn’t the dinosaurs lmao
@Hectorferjr22 жыл бұрын
While the cast is charming, the visuals are delightful, the action scenes are awesome, and the music score by Michael Giacchino is engaging, Jurassic World 3: Dominion seems to have been involved with studio interference just like Superman II, The Outsiders, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 did. I get the impression that 22 minutes of story and depth were removed because Universal Pictures is more interested in making sure that they can recoup more money by showing the movie 25 times a day in movie theaters instead of ending this story in a really satisfying way. It’s really disappointing that after working on this trilogy for nine years by trying to create something original and indigenous, Universal Pictures had to remind Colin Trevorrow that he unfortunately doesn’t have the power to fight off the big suggestions. Maybe a director’s cut of Jurassic World 3: Dominion will someday be released. 3 out of 5 stars. A Matinee!

This film feels like a HARD retread of so many themes and ideas from the older movies with severely annoying and boring characters, which was the main issue I had with the last film. Characters show up close to 0 development or real purpose, other than fan service or to be 'quirky'. The cast is bloated to all hell, to the point you KNOW nothing bad is going to happen to the good guys, taking any tension away from the action. They do the dinosaurs dirty yet again, as they attempt to introduce ANOTHER big bad dino to rival the Tyrannosaurus, only to have that same dinosaur be nothing less than underwhelming. Dinosaur species are shown for no reason other than the filmmakers going, "Hey, look at the thing! Isn't it cool? Ok moving on"[except for one dinosaur they DO make interesting, only to do something very stupid with, but we'll get to that]. The film's marketing pretends that it's going to be about dinosaurs living along side humans, and how humans as a whole are going to have to cope with that, when in reality, that's maybe 1/5 of this 2+ hour movie. It's disappointing to see a franchise I love dearly have such a nose dive in quality as the years have gone by. The only fun I had was going to see it in costume with people I like and talking shit about it the whole time. But anyway, I'm giving this movie a FUCK YOU for wasting my time

Taking the dinos out the park was a great idea. This movie is just total garbage is all. Realistically most of the dinos would be dead/hunted/caught within a decade, but we'd still have a world full of mid to small pterosaurs and smaller fast dinos like compies that can spread like a plague and hide among vegetation/burrows/pipes. Some velociraptor packs would definitely also survive in the woods. They were desperate to have something that threatens the planet. Which is why the whole food shortage thing. But that's fucking stupid. This isn't a superhero franchise. They don't need something that threatens the planet. That's cartoon writing. All this movie had to be was a horror movie about a small town where many of the dinos have settled down. Like the Tremors movies. They just needed a town or a few towns dealing with most of the escaped dinosaurs. They could have people that want to kill all the dinos, with the main characters wanting to not have any of the herbivores harmed, or something. Anything.

I'm tired of people looking at dinosaurs as monsters just because of ignorance and movies. The dinosaurs living with man is not the criticism nahh its that they didn't show the resolution to JW:FK. As much as nobody gives a fuck about me or what about to say… Since its debut when iWas 7, no exaggeration, iSeen Jurassic Park more than the back of eyelids & value it more than most ppl. Just beyond simple novelty of dinosaurs & genetic engineering, the script & actors, iLove how easily JP grooms me into being as intellectually & empathetically toxic as Hammond. (“How can we stand at the light of discovery & not act?h After, the initial accident, the opening death, willing to bribe ppl, including his own grand babies to become apart of this portable buffet…thru a hurricane. But, Spielberg being clever as a raptor, even prior to the chopper actually lands, the entire plot was subliminally foreshadowed then & there. If Fallen Kingdom aka Jurassic Ark was 65million year de-evolution, then iKnow Dominion is huge Dilophosaurus loogie in the face of the franchise.

I liked the movie for me only the first JP is a masterpiece the 2 sequels tried to recapture that but failed and that's why I don't care much for them. With the first J world film, they set it up from the start that the movie will be more over the top and action-oriented with genetically altered Dinos. To me, the World films and J Park movies feel like two totally different things when I watch the J world movies it feels like I'm watching action Dino films, not J park movies which give me the ability to separate both so I can enjoy the J world movies. To me, I can enjoy the J world films because I don't feel the need to compare them with the first J park movie because I never feel like either is going for the same thing to me the J world movies are just action flicks blockbuster movies with Dinos and after Lost World and Park 3 tried to go the serious J Park route and failed I'm honestly totally fine that the J World movies just to be action blockbusters with Dinos that simply doesn't bother me.

I figured the movie would be dinosaurs running all over, eating people and the OG cast and the new ones are brought together by some government office due to their experiences with these things at Isla Nubar. Grant, Sattler, and Malcolm are all saying “kill these fuckers” while Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt are the “we can’t just kill them” camp. It essentially would’ve become about these two generations getting over their disagreements to survive an avoidable ecological disaster that was brought on by corporate greed (basically I wanted the dinos to represent climate change) THAT is the potential I saw in this. How they hell did Trevorrow and his co-writer not?
