You are so right, the things that man knew. You must read his Novel, The Andromeda Strain. The movie was very good too! I saw it in the theater in the 1970s.

Not just that, but his use of metaphor is highly underrated. I think bc his there is a degree of subtlety that is absent from modern fiction. My guess is modern authors either dont respect their readers or the publishers force the author to beat their readers over the head with abtuse metaphor.

It’s goofy. I listened to Andromeda Strain. The narrator was fantastic. Jurassic Park also very good. I have to admit I sometimes leave videos because I can’t listen to the voice. I used to read all the time. I love audiobooks. I shall again!

The US accent was hard to listen to honestly, particularly the Goldblum playing Malcolm impression. And all of the characters weaved in and out of a Southern drawl. I have to commend you on the Australian accent though. It was honestly flawless- I’ve never heard a non-Australian do a more convincing job (I am Australian).

It's a really good job you've done; after awhile of the back and forth between the characters I could hear the American just subtle slur into your British narrating 🤣 BTW I read all the harsh, crude comments - just wanna say: it's amazing you've spent 14 hours of your own time plus video editing to make a free audiobook simply for the benefit of others. No one can do accents perfectly unless your a trained professional, and any critic who critiques for fun is just a moron. Keep your chin up and your good work up mate.

Most of the criticism is very minor and constructive and mixed in with praise, and its because he does such a good job that people are pointing out minor ways to improve because he has potential reading audiobooks. Some people assume others might like advice on ways to improve. Others dont like to hear it I guess. Different types of people maybe.

1. Jurassic Park is a phenomenal film and most of the *minimal* changes are good in their own way and add something instead of detracting as most film adaptation changes do. 2. It's well known that Michael Crichton only wrote The Lost World so Spielberg could turn it into a movie, so you wouldn't even have this book without the first movie. 3. C'mon, let's get real here. These books aren't masterworks. They're more akin to pageturners like Stephen King books or The Davinci Code which as far as I'm concerned are the "Hollywood movies" of the book world, absolutely perfect for film adaptations. So sure, The Lost World movie might not have been as good as the first one and certainly strayed way further from this book, but to say they shouldn't have touched the JP book at all for a movie? To suggest the movie adaptation is some cheap cash grab and the books are high art?That's being a bit generous I think.
