The Seventh Amendment to the United States Constitution is part of the Bill of Rights. This amendment codifies the right to a jury trial in certain civil cases and inhibits courts from overturning a jury's findings of fact.
There are two main types of court systems in the United States: federal and state. The Seventh Amendment requires civil jury trials only in federal courts.
During the next few weeks, we will be talking about Your Bill of Rights and how they became part of the United States Constitution, we will be explaining how they work then and today, and what are the rights and responsibilities that come with them.
