To climb in this game you use the left and tight trigger buttons to control the grip of each hand. Also, the rope is a lot of fun when you use it to swing over to out of reach areas. :) *Spoiler* Also, apparently the little blue creature in your backpack (seen at the end) is made of water, so I'm guessing it'll maybe help you bring water back to the world somehow.

With the boats stuck to the mountain and the seemingly inexplicable seagull population, that might actually be the case in this game. Maybe there was an ocean, but it went away, exposing this strange rock formation.

I love the mechanics of this game, honestly. Having your own built-in checkpoints during climbing sections, and having to be aware of handholds without being entirely locked into manual limb movement? friggin' fantastic.

In the Easter Island, a long time ago, the different tribes would send one man every year to compete for the title of Tangata Manu (the Bird Man), who would, for one year, be the chief of the entire island. The competition consisted on swimming to a small island off the coast of Rapa Nui (The name of Easter Island by the natives), collect the first egg that was laid by the tern bird that lived there, swim back to Rapa Nui and climb a cliff to the top while still having the egg intact. For some reason this game reminded me of that.

There’s no feeling more intense than starting over. If you’ve deleted your homework the day before it was due, as I have. Or if you left your wallet at home and you have to go back, after spending an hour in the commute. If you won some money at the casino and then put all your winnings on red, and it came up black. If you won an argument with a friend and then later discovered they just returned to their original view. Starting over is harder than starting up. The worst thing about these games and verticality in games generally is having to sus out which element is decorative vs functional. Either it's a big emersion breaking highway on the wall or it's a secret ladder you had to look up on wiki. The best solution is an engine that gives you tools to deal with all possible surfaces. Tenchu is my go-to mental example. That hookshot would stick to everything. I liked soul reaver also, where eventually you could basically just grab any surface and climb it.

Character looks a little like Beatrix and Lana from both Slime Rancher and Planet of Lana. Gameplay-wise the mechanics are creative, the game pushes you to perform risky maneuvers but not too over the top. Environment looks grandeur but a little barren. Cinematic shots were pretty good too.

Music is top notch especially at the ending. Played through the entire demo and love the look of this game. I just don't know how entertaining or fun it will be to play for more than 20 min at a time. It seems very tedious and just linear to get to the top

Its a bit of a shame the high cliffs in the game don't give me as much vertigo as they would IRL. The obvious reactive answer would be to put it into VR, but that would force it into First Person, ruin a lot of the charm that this game has, and limit the audience to only those with VR. Maybe if the camera were closer and looking more downwards during the climbing parts it'd give the claustrophobic feeling while also showing you're impending doom, maybe also have it so some grips aren't visible unless you use another button to look up.

the game is nice, but the overall technical status is questinable (optimization is bad considering graphics and mouse control is awful). I like the idea tho, plus each arm control was introduced in Grow Up/Home by Ubisoft, but never developed to the level like in Jusant.

So annoying to watch. I'd love to know what the game designers think the rope is for when you climb. Maybe do like, I dunno, five minutes of research into how lead climbing works, because this is just embarrassing.
