Embattled actor Jussie Smollett will not appear in the final two episodes of "Empire" this season in the wake of the criminal charges he's facing for allegedly falsifying claims of a hate crime.
Producers of the Fox show "Empire" said that Smollett's character will be removed from the final two episodes of the show.
The show's creators and executive producers Lee Daniels, Danny Strong, Brett Mahoney, Brian Grazer, Sanaa Hamri, Francie Calfo and Dennis Hammer released a joint statement confirming the news.
"The events of the past few weeks have been incredibly emotional for all of us. Jussie has been an important member of our Empire family for the past five years and we care about him deeply. While these allegations are very disturbing, we are placing our trust in the legal system as the process plays out. We are also aware of the effects of this process on the cast and crew members who work on our show and to avoid further disruption on set, we have decided to remove the role of ‘Jamal’ from the final two episodes of the season," the joint statement reads.

The check thing had me about peeing my pants! To be fair, just had surgery, can't walk great and on pain killers so things are even funnier. But you use the most easily traceable form of payment out there to commit a crime? I'm no criminal but wouldn't like take out small deposits of cash here and there and save up if you wanted to be harder to catch? Other hand, this is so insultive to so many. I've been assaulted and have *diagnosed by a medical professional and not myself* PTSD and severe anxiety from being attacked. We all have personal stuff on our phones but I handed mine over as I knew my attacker and had talked to him before hand and was later threatened by him and his friends over my phone and in person. I have private stuff on here like everyone else but I wanted to be able to give cops some proof so it could be prosecuted. And I could totally see him using the mental illness card which pisses me off because it's nothing to make light of and millions of people suffer with mental illness. As far as him using x, was he high when he planned this and carried it out? X is lowly addictive, if that and it's not really a steroid but will speed you up and cook your brains. I don’t believe this idea that certain nationalities (or ethnic groups) are inherently smarter than others. Remember, people in different parts of the world have been eating different foods for thousands of years. You now have a situation where all these different ethnic groups have gathered in America, and are now eating the same food. I don’t think that the black people taken from Africa had eaten wheat before they were brought to America 400 years ago. White people in Europe had been eating it for thousands of years. Food affects health, which affects your ability to learn.
