100%. The fossil fuel/extinction/climate collapse train is now a runaway train. The best thing we can do at this point is to alleviate suffering as much as possible until we run out of track.

Indians need to lead on climate change. All the research suggests the Indian subcontinent will experience the most severe warming. Some projections suggest it may become uninhabitable. In one article i read, the authors hypothesized the possible need to wear space suits outdoors in India by 2150 to prevent death. A lot of the people in the Northern hemisphere will unforgivably remain ambivalent because of a culture of selfish individualism, combined with the reality that cold regions will become more temperate and pleasant. And this cannot be reversed, so the time is now.

So true! We have PFOA, PFOS, and related PFAS Chemicals {pfoa/C8/C6/GenX/fluoride} in most sources of drinking water around the World (thanks to the Manhattan Project/3M/DuPont) Our poles are melting, which is causing our massive planet to spin slower overtime (which will cause further climate change) Due to construction purposes globally.. we are running out of sea sand - which is a critical component to making concrete (KZbin search "the sand wars") And.. the Earth's magnetic field is weakening, which means our magnetosphere won't be able to protect us from harmful solar radiation (hints why the Northern lights/aurora borealis was recently visible in diverse areas & states - which is new)

Having worked outside in 48C temperature, i have experienced what Pakistan and India are suffering from. It's really hard to keep the body going, and after nearly an hour, heatstroke started to set in. Luckily I was near a nursing station and got treatment, but you never forget the sensations.

The ONLY possible way to get out of a financial system that absolutely demands infinite growth and prevents anything being done about climate change would be to make if financially worthwhile for people to SHARE the jobs we would agree we NEED to have done and work much less. Doing the things we NEED would become the priority ..instead of doing anything and everything we can think of FOR money.

I'm hoping that more buildings and large warehouse type buildings will be required to have solar panels on them to offset their heating and cooling. Having all those solar panels on during the peaks of demand would save stress on the electrical grid. Add the white paint and you can reduce the number of solar panels.

1,2C was the reasonable average warming before current El Niño, so we are currently at higher state. Latest 12 month mean was @1,63C (Copernicus). Coming La Niña will cool planet a bit, but most likely we end near 1,4C... And in 5-10 years we will be permanently over 1,5C. 2,0C will be reached within 14-16 years. Current trend is toward 3-5C warming. (77% of) IPCC experts estimates it will be 2,5-5,0C (or above) warmer by 2100... Change rate is too high for any large scale adaptation. Fastest warming rate, ever. More areas are turning to deserts. And unlivable conditions are rising in many locations. Warm water coral reefs are already doomed. We are losing over 30% of ocean life within our lifetime (more than just reefs). And we have already killed 50% of insects, turned mammals to domesticated animals (97% change)... SE Amazon is turning to deserts and grasslands, rest may follow soon. Even our soil is turning to carbon source (organic and non-organic) due to human made rapid warming. Weather is more unpredictable and that is creating havoc on farming. Losing mountain glaciers makes many areas losing their fresh water sources when they need them most in the summer. Currently we are simply killing all life that habitated this planet. And that includes human race. And we still keep on pushing more fossil fuel burning related emissions to the air. Stop burning ANY fossil fuels. Today.

@@nsbd90now I know... Specially those short versions for governments are just awful. But full report still has its merits. It seems like scientists are selling their "science" for the governments to keep their "research" funded... There is no way to 1,5C and 2,0C will be crossed in 14-16 years. We are currently heading toward 3-5C warming. (Says IPCC experts outside of the IPCC politiciced papers nor fossil fuel company pressure..., Guardian poll.)

We are already well past 2.0c from the original 1750 baseline & the aerosol masking paradox guarantees that reducing emissions will only accelerate heating by eliminating the sun reflecting particulates in fossil fuels as already observed by the reduction in shipping fuel sulphates. The heat is locked in, so we better hope those planes keep flying & civilization doesn't collapse if we don't want to all literally be toast in a matter of days!
