As someone who has worked outside in heavy rain, and perhaps a little bit of far off lightning, while trying to do utility locates, I don't blame Ricky or Roscoe. Also now I work with Hydro Excavation trucks, and the safety rule is that they shut down for at least 30 mins when lightning is spotted, because even though they have grounding equipment, you don't!

They’re just big vacuum trucks, they’re not only used in hydro excavation projects. But I agree, most construction projects have a special rule, is to go to somewhere safe, at the first sign of lightning, then when the storm passes and in that case it’s in the summer when storms do pass, your not allowed to continue work until 30 minutes after the last reported lightning strike, or until the storm is at least 10 miles away.
