Ah the monument, memories of when a child coming back from holidays or visiting family and having competitions on who saw land marks first and shouting 'I can see the Monument' when we approached Ulverston. Still do it now, more jokingly, as an adult XD. Yes it's a lovely area to live. (Born and bred Barrowvian here)
