Say, I'm not sure how harsh the chemicals are, but the easy way to make sure there is no problem with the recirculating pump is to use Tygon tubing and the kind of pump that squeezes the tubing for pumping action.

Electroless plating has some perks but also requires more attention and regular adjustments to the bath composition. Basically you need to have a pretty good idea of the surface area being plated and track that versus time to know when to add more stuff to your bath to maintain the proper composition. Plus that heating thing when it's some fairly nasty stuff.

Waiting for stuff to arrive when in the middle of a project is one of the most frustrating things, it really interrupts the flow so hope you are not waiting for too long. When you are making/editing your videos, when doing things could you add annotations such as "adding flux" or "degassing with ____" so that people who might not know exactly what for example that stuff you put on top of the molten alloy over the flu and things like that, I think it would be really helpful for everyone especially when they want to come bask to one of your videos to see what you did. Like just flashing up the recipe of the plaster/sand mix, type of sand etc, I think that would add a lot to your videos. At the end of the day information is king and knowing what is going on is going to be really helpful to a lot of ppl.

Interesting. However i personally i'm more interested in the your cylinder design work. Even if you eventually get a nicalsil process up and running you need to get diamond honing equipment. And you better try out the process on cheep barrels and not on you special one. And its not that expensive to get it done professionally e.g. in germany (ebay). I did hardcroming of aluminium cylinders once upon a time when chemicals were fairly easy to buy. It was very messy.

Here's an idea that will make you rich! Figure out how to build a 2 stroke that oils like a 4 stroke. There has got to be a way. If the epa didn't make 2 stroke a dirty word in the USA it would of already been accomplished I'm sure and economical.
@remingtonmitchell81175 жыл бұрын
Look up 2 stroke Detroit diesel.
@jesusisalive32275 жыл бұрын
@@remingtonmitchell8117 The problem with the Detroit is the added valve train. It adds extra parts and weight. I have thought about taking a small dual overhead cam engine and converting it to a two stroke. It would take some cam work but I do believe its possible. I still think it's possible to build a 2 stroke with a sump without using a valve train. Maybe something like a side oiler configuration with high pressure squirters set to squirt the oil while the ports are closed. Something along those lines. If you could build a light clear gas burning 2 stroke you would be a very rich individual!

dude awesome shit.just dont expect durability from it. bmw had trouble with their nikasil coated engines. the nikasil would start "rotting" and would basicly destroy the engine, but that would happen at high milages 200k and up so as you are building small 2 strokes and prob and expecting such milages anyway it might not be a problem

Nikasil plating has been used in competition 2-stroke bikes for decades.

You should not be shy with asking for money man, you are offering up real stuff for real people who pay real money for the things you are teaching people to do on their own. Don't worry about those fumes damaging your brains too much man, if you'[re not scared of nitro fumes, t hen you'll be fine, but you'd better know this. Those fumes will start a process on everything metal in your shop that will corrode everything in sight and out of sight and once it starts it won't stop so do it outside for sure. All your tools will be rusty and wasted if it gets near them, much worse than brain damage my friend, the creator gave you plenty of brain cells but the outer protective layer of your tools is only a joke when confronted with those fumes, it will even get under your screen on your phone and tv. Peace Sizzlean
