With the shocking increase in campus shootings since the unthinkable massacre at Virginia Tech in 2007, colleges and universities across the USA are focusing more resources on preparedness.
Towson University is no exception.
A film made especially for the university entitled “Just Another Day” is part of the Towson University Office of Public Safety’s strategy to prepare the Towson community in the event of an active shooter on campus.
The film, set in the Liberal Arts Building, is a dramatic reenactment in which actors playing students, professors and staff are faced with the situation of an active shooter in the building.
The Department of Electronic Media and Film at Towson University is behind the production with Assistant Professor Joseph Kraemer as director, alongside scriptwriter Assistant Professor Marc May and producer Marco Kathuria, an adjunct instructor in the department.
