For those who didn't get the Serpa Holster joke, the Blackhawk Serpa holster had a little release button that you had to hold down with your trigger finger to get your pistol out. However, people were finding that holding the button down with their trigger finger and getting hasty with like quickdraws and stuff, their trigger finger was slipping and falling on the trigger, several cases of NDs ensued. I've seen a couple different NDs over the years due to the shooter being unfamiliar with a retention holster. One was a local sheriff's deputy with a new triple retention holster, and he shot his range partner in the calf. With ANY retention holster, you should practice your draw with an empty, unsafe, cocked pistol. If you hear a dry fire you screwed up and probably would have shot the guy beside you.
