Honestly? Holy shit, in a time when so many of Perry Ferrels’ Contemporaries have let their singing voices go south, he sounds as good or better than ever. ‘Nothing’s Shocking’, to this very day, is one of the greatest albums of the last thirty plus years, and it has been said that before grunge, there was Janes Addiction.

Well, it's been a while - but IMHO nothing will beat their show at The Rialto, Raleigh NC Feb 16th 1989. Perry was so strung out and yet simultaneously filled with fire, it was a sight to see, and the band was, of course, the original band with Navarro. I recall about halfway through the set Perry lifted his long-leather-gloves covered arms over his head and what looked like a half gallon of sweat came pouring out. The mosh pit was beyond insane, and by the end of the show people were literally ripping the wooden & metal seats out of the floor and throwing them into the pit and towards the stage... That's about when I moved to the side of this very small venue, and watched the mayhem from a safer distance. Nothing's Shocking? That show certainly was.

my mom was his babysitter...my grandmother was best friends with his mom...she was beautiful according to my mom. this was while he was a little boy living in queens...my mom never mentioned because she didn't know janes addiction and perry's mom passed and sister pumpkin (nickname) moved.....one day she overheard me talking about him...I mentioned his real name and she flipped...I was like 30 when she told me lolll. lots of stories and pics with my grandmother and perry's brother and sis...im not mentioning the dad for a reason , but its not my business it's perrys...she did say he was the most beautiful little baby and boy
