I’m 34 bricklayer for 17 years from wales and moved to Australia over 10 years ago, absolutely love laying bricks but the passion and love from others is ruining the game, I had to leave the tree about 3 months ago due to money fluctuating too much, I became a construction supervisor and now I’m running 40 houses but they will be built with the love and passion I was taught as a whopper snapper, miss laying everyday but was time for me to progress

Whether we like it or not , bricklaying has changed. In the modern world we no longer build walls 1,2 or even 3 bricks thick. We now clad buildings in a coat that is one half brick thick. We use steel or concrete to span opes and as a result we rarely have the chance to showcase the full range of our bonding and cutting skills. However, watching you reminds me that the same principles apply to the traditional and the modern and I hope you keep putting out your great videos. Keep up the good work.

They still used profiles on victorian houses. Im a traditionalist myself 34 years in the game. If your on price and can get up early and finish at 330 mixer cleaned and tools in van. Why the fuck not. My grand built corners. But im still learning from the youth of today. A message gained is a lesson learnt. Tararsing or chillin with good. Gang gang. 😮

The labourers have to up there game because of profiles, where before you’d build up 2 big corners and give the lab time to get ahead, with the profiles your on the money straight away,to be honest labs don’t have to mix nearly anymore,my shoulder is fucked from doing it,English style of work is a lot easier on the body than in Ireland

It’s nice to see the old school in the trades.
