Oh, that feather from the pipe trick gets even deeper when you realize that the feather CAN'T spawn until you get the Fire Flower because the room is already at Entity Limit, so you HAVE to pick up that 1-up to trigger the feather early, or it won't spawn. So not only is it re-using the same trick multiple times, but it's also a hint.

SimCity, SimAnt, SimFarm, and SimEarth were like half my childhood, lol. SimTower was cool too, but the end game goals required going to like floor 200 or something and there were max limits on rooms, elevators, stairs, etc. that made it pretty much impossible to fill a working tower up to that high and a bunch of stuff was incomplete or bugged and didn't work right. SimEarth was super complicated, but you could do cool stuff like evolve different animals to sentience and get them to a point where they would all leave the earth to go colonize somewhere else, and you could also terraform Mars and Venus. Venus was mostly just sitting around and waiting forever to remove all the extra gas and get it to a temperature where you could crash ice asteroids into it to turn it into like half jungle, half desert planet. Mars was more interesting, because you had to be careful in adding some plant life, but not so much that you convert all the CO2 back into Oxygen which would start massive fires and then likely end up with the entire planet frozen under ice.

The same thing happened with Mario Maker 1, that's just Nintendo being Nintendo, they have a mentality of "I provide you a complete game, you enjoy it", so as soon as they feel the game is "complete" they'll just move on, rather than try to squeeze it as much as they can, which is what most other companies would do. MM2 sold a lot and they can reuse a big portion of the code, MM3 is practically free money, there's no way they won't take it

@@geli95us I’d argue it’s not complete only because it’s obvious they wanted to do a lot more with it. You’ve got the 4 main styles like with MM1 but then they have a separate section for other styles. Except it’s just 3D World. Styles implies they were planning to add more styles into the mix but they never did. Only instead of explaining to the fan base why they didn’t add any more styles, they decided to hang in the towel altogether. It’s disappointing.
