Good to have you back ... please can you do a video on what 6 gauges to monitor on cobb unit for the 997 turbo .. the most important ones ...eg intake air temp
@rix9113 ай бұрын
IAT/charge air temp, lambda1, lambda2, timing advance, RPM, TPS/throttle position actual
@NSXavier9973 ай бұрын
I have pretty much what @rix911 has quoted above except instead of TPS, timing, and engine speed I have engine temp, oil temp and Manifold Absolute Pressure… really the most important one for me is intake air temp. But yes, I can comment on this on my next video
@rix9113 ай бұрын
@@NSXavier997 I like TPS because it's nice to know when you are actually on the throttle in logs. RPM is self explanatory. Yes coolant and oil temps are very important but unless something is way off they should be fine and are easily monitored with dash gauges. MAP should be on the list too but he said only 6 :). Maybe just Lambda1 and skip lambda2, but you'll miss things if you're not looking at both banks lambda.

@@LT64444 hell yea. I love 996 Turbos. I’ve driven a few and I can attest that the 996 inspires more confidence when compared to the 997. They’re just so nimble feeling and light on their feet. With the 997 it’s more of a sledgehammer especially the way I have mine modded… which is why I stuck to the main roads for this video 😂

After watching this video, I opened the garage and took my own 600bhp manual Gen 1.5 for a blast...What a tonic! I'd forgotten just how competent and utterly vicious in acceleration terms my baby is! But I had a question in my mind...Would I be having more fun in an F355?! There is a poster dream car that still hasn't been experienced. But will I regret selling my 997 Turbo? I love turbo power, and would the F355 be too slow? First world problems I know,but the type of questions that keep us petrol heads awake at night😆
@NSXavier9974 ай бұрын
I know exactly where you're coming from. I haven't had any time to drive or give much attention to mine all summer. That's when thoughts of trading up or selling start to come into play. Driving them always reminds you of WHY you love the car so much. It's funny that you should mention the F355... as I was considering that as a replacement car if I had ever sold the Turbo. I think the thing that appeals most to me about the F355 is the engine out service and just wanting to do one on my own to say I've done it. I don't know that I'd actually enjoy the driving experience of that car over the 911. The F355 design is by definition a beauty though. Cheers and enjoy your car in good health.
