This is crazy. They both knew they were adopted. People said they look alike. They had an instant attraction because they were seeing themselves in each other. They should have checked this long ago. I have many siblings I do not know even though I know my parents. You better believe I am going to know who someone's real parents are before we get involved. Did their parents not think to check this out? This is traumatic and tragic for them. She has no plans if stopping this if he doesn't. There are so many things wrong here. I hope they seek counseling. The separation will not be easy but needs to happen.

In the Zulu culture you don’t date(marry) anyone with your parents surnames and grandmothers surname. Whether you are related to them or not because it is considered relation because our surnames come from the name of one person from long ago so somewhere down the line even if it was centuries ago you were once related. In my tribe if clansmen havea child together without knowing they’re related (usually because maybe their parents were not married and the son took the mothers name and was raised by his mother’s clan), they are « forgiven » and the man is officially a member of the clan that raised him and not that of his father erasing the « curse » . They’re blessed and allowed to marry. I think for this scenario they deserve some grace because i can’t imagine how complicated and heart wrenching it is for them especially because this means that finding your sibling and losing them at the same time because they were your lover and things could never be the same.

Here’s a wild and disgusting fact for you. In Sweden half siblings could be allowed to get married. They have to make a specific petition to the government, but it could be approved. A circumstance that could lead to government approval is that the half siblings met as adult and didn’t know that they are related until later after a romantic relationship was established.
