I have been waiting to start a drone video channel for years. To that effect, I much appreciate your productions displaying a high degree of knowledge and enthusiasm. I have been involved in the field of R/C and drones for more than 40 years (no kidding) and continue the involvement as an Aeronautic College teacher and active drone flyer on several type of drones, from Tello size mini drones to the DJI Matrice series. With videos such as this one, you are adding pressure on the trigger... ;) Enjoying your informative and inspirational work!

I do believe the Comica produced a richer audio quality both indoors and outdoors. My use of it? Well I'm on the edge of starting a KZbin channel and in studio audio is on my check list of items to purchase. This one would be great! Thank you so much for the quality information you share, i enjoy each one. Have a safe and Happy Holidays.

Wow! What a coincidence! I was just about ready to order a Rode Mic and haven't decided yet. I need a mic because I've been recording interviews with those who have been affected by the pandemic. The long battery life and ease of charging are great selling points. I'll have to do more research. Thank you so much! Love your channel by the way!

As a high school student, I would use this mic to record voice-overs. Because schooling has gone online now, teachers are assigning video projects that require students to talk in the video. I had a project recently and my audio didn't sound great because I was using my laptop's built-in mic. This mic would definitely help with audio quality.

I am building my video workshop and next on the list of things to get is a microphone. Four weeks ago I was looking for a portable light source and you made my shopping quick and easy by reviewing the Panel Pro. Got it and liking it. Since winners luck is not something I ever have relied on, I should just order the Comica and be done with it. BUT I think I will wait a week. Who knows perhaps Lady Luck just might do a drive-by.

I always appreciate your videos. You have a very down-to-earth presentation style and you hit on the information that we are generally wondering. If I had this microphone, I would most likely use it as a studio mic like you do. I have the wireless go that I like to use when I'm in my car or outside and am currently using a video micro when I need something really quick (instead of setting up and turning on the wireless go).

I have the Video Micro which is a surprisingly good mic for the money. I was thinking about replacing it with the Video Mic NTG, but I think you sold me on this one which I am not familiar with. The sound quality, price and battery life make for great value. So if you choose me it will be replacing my Rode Video Micro for zoom calls and training videos. Thanks for sharing.

I have this mic and I have used it on several projects. The audio is crisp and nice. The battery life is nothing to worry about as it can go a few days on a full charge. It has pro features like 75 and 100 db cut. It's a really nice mike .... until .... you start getting loud. I was doing a narrative based film with this mic when one of the actors had to shout aggressively as part of his dialogue for that scene. It distorted badly and very very obviously. Note: IT DID NOT CLIP. And this was the problem. After some investigation I found the SPL on this mic was on 105db and it had distorted because the mic just couldn't handle the volume of the actors voice in that situation. I tried another mic, my professional mic which is a Sennheiser ME66 and of course it passed my tests of me screaming down the mic at close range to try and get it to distort. The ME66 has an SPL of 130db. After some searching I discovered the DIETY D4 had the same SPL as my ME66 and so I purchased that. Problem solved. My Comica VM20 is now on eBay.

Would love to have that mic because of all the new features, especially the USB charging. That's a great feature, especially with dealing with phantom power issues. I'd use it as an upgrade on the Rode Video Micro I use nearly every day doing "standups" for news, and my upcoming KZbin content that's being assembled right now. Keep up the great information for us Russ ! We really appreciate it, whether over here in Montana or elsewhere...

Not to be too nerdy here but technically you should be using a small diaphragm condenser for indoor audio. Shotgun mics are designed for outdoor use, the interference tube at the end is designed to help reduce noise coming from outside the pickup pattern, however they can serve to increase how much reverb the mic picks up indoors. This isn't to say that you won't get decent audio in a well treated space, but my understanding is that you should look at a small diaphragm condenser if you're recording indoors. Also, just so people know, those wind muffs aren't designed to block outdoor wind, they're more designed to block wind caused from microphone movement (such as on a boom pole titling back and forth quickly between two speakers). If you want to block wind, you need a blimp.
