well I am 14 years old and what seems boring to you is actually my hobby. I go to flea markets, thrift stores, goodwills, and even pawn shops to look for vacuums (specifically dysons) but any type of high end vacuum and fix them up and clean them up and refurbish them. then when I'm done with all that I either add it to my collection or sell it to make a pretty penny.

I LOVE my Dyson ! I LOVE it SO much, that I bought a second one for the second floor ! I love the fact that everything you will need is already on the machine. No digging through...which closet ?? I love the way it comes apart for cleaning and if something does get stuck, you can get to it very easily. I've had expensive vacs in the past, Filter Queen $1500. A Kirby $1500. and my mother's old Hoover. NONE of them worked as well as my Dyson.

To clean the INSIDE of the vacuum, you can use something like the drain weasel to pull out stuck hair from the attached tube/pipe. You can also use a long radiator brush. BE CAREFUL NOT TO PUNCTURE YOUR HOSE - try to straighten and compress it before putting anything in. Biggest tip: once everything else is clean, dry, and reattached, pour a cup or two of baking soda over a square foot of (clean) carpet and vacuum it up. It lightly scours the inside and also deodorizes it.

I love your videos, they are a great resource for me. I may be a little odd,, but I actually enjoy cleaning. I vacuum every day on the main floor, with my cordless Dyson which I absolutely love ( I have three dogs and a cat, plus grandchildren) but I also have a Shark Upright that I use for deeper cleaning. In fact I have a Shark vacuum in my basement, the main floor and the upper floor where the bedrooms are. Only issue I have with vacuuming is, my hubby can’t stand the sound of it, so I always wait until he is out running errands etc. Then I vacuum. I also try to mop the floors whilst he is out. SO they are clean for a little while at least.Another thing I enjoy doing, or should say I enjoy the finished product, is cleaning my stove top. My husband cooks a lot, God bless him, but I clean up after every meal. He tends to be a somewhat messy cook and there are always spills and ‘stuff’ on the gas stove top. I love taking it apart and cleaning it and when it goes back together, to see the clean surfaces is a joy to me. weird, I know.

I love my Dyson. I have four teenage boys, and having a cordless absolutely increases the chances that they vacuum their bedrooms! Not having to trip over a cord is worth it’s weight in gold, and the ease of use makes sweeping, and just kicking dust back up into the air a thing of the past. 😁

I have a robotic vacuum. It's amazing. It's not a Roomba because they are too expensive. So I found a good one at Walmart (iLife A4s) for less than $200. I have it scheduled to vacuum every morning. It runs for about 2 hours and cleans my 1300 sq ft home and returns to it's base when it's done. I clean out the dust bin every other day which takes me about 30 seconds. It's part of my nightly cleaning routine. My hardwood floors and area rugs always look amazing. Btw, I have dogs.

Melissa, glad you guys decided to do this video. Truth is I hate vacuuming too, that was the chore I was always given since I'm a child! 😝 But, nevertheless, we tend to just worry emptying the canister or changing out the bag, and nobody thinks of actually cleaning the parts of the equipment. It's true making it clean as if you just bought it, will be beneficial in the long run! 😊

I loved “your Latin lover Manuel”. I bought the low end Dyson V6 after seeing you use the Dyson brand. I love that it is so light and that it is cordless, I have literally had wrestling matches with my Shark and the cord. I do wish the Dyson charge lasted a little longer, but I can deal with it. We live in a small townhouse and I am always looking how to reduce in size of items.

I have the Shark Navigator Swivel Plus. It's the less expensive version of the Lift Away. I was coming from having used a $250 Electrolux Nimble that finally died & I found the Shark vacuums during my months of research. But I'd never owned a Shark so I was scared to spend over $200 again on one, so I bought this cheaper version (was about $115) thinking if I liked it in a year or so I'll upgrade to one of the Lift Away's. Happy to say I love this Shark vacuum! I do not miss having a headlight like I thought I would & it's SO much lighter! My Electrolux was a BEAST it was so very heavy, good exercise I guess though. Can't wait to try one of the Lift Away's some day.

I have a Dyson. Best vacuum I've ever owned. I have 2 dogs and 4 cats and carpets take a beating from them. It amazes me the amount of stuff my Dyson vacuums up. The first time I used it I had to empty the canister so many times. I had a high-end Electralux before and I thought it did a good job....lots of bags to always buy. Yes the Dyson is expensive but the fact that you don't have to buy bags (and run out of 'em) eventually evens out the cost.........My son bought me the little hand-held Dyson for Christmas (sweet boy) and it does a great job too. Now I'm gonna clean 'em up. Thanks for another good video my dear.

I've had a Dyson, but I broke pretty much as soon as the warranty ran out. So, now I have a Shark Navigator & I'm very happy with it. It was much less expensive, works great on my carpet & tile, keeps up with my crazy long hair & my huskies, and still has a 2 year warranty. I empty the collection canister multiple times while cleaning, but that's because I have huskies. And I clean the filter probably once a month. I've never cleaned the other parts, but I haven't had it for 6 months yet. I don't hate vacuuming. Happy cleaning :-)

If you decide to buy a Dyson, I’d suggest buying direct. They will almost always match prices (I don’t think they sell refurbs, but not 100%). Plus, you get free attachments that I haven’t found anywhere else. I do usually buy filters from other places.

Perfect timing on this video. My vacuum had been... well... sucking for months in spite of a clean filter. I turned it over to look at the beater head, and sure enough, it was utterly caked with cruft. After snipping at the threads and whatnot that were wound around the drum per your suggestion, I used a dental pick instead of a toothbrush to tease the matted crud out of the bristle strips themselves. It took 15 or 20 minutes and made quite a mess, but it's clean as a whistle downstairs now. My carpets are now no longer coated with dust and little tufts of cat hair left behind by the vacuum. I could get used to this.

I've had an Oreck XL for 6 years. My wife has back problems and wanted something light. It is very light, but it also is a hard worker. Our dog constantly sheds. Hair falls off him when he's just standing there looking at you!. How can he not be bald? We should be able to watch it grow the hair seems to replace itself so fast. But it's no problem for the Oreck. Plus, we got a 10 year service plan with it. Bring it to an Oreck dealer once per year and they replace the belts and clean everything out for free. They even install a new, free vacuum bag! And that is another thing I love about it. I hate those dusty canisters. Hypo-allergenic vacuum bags are so easy to just pull out and throw way. No dust flying everywhere! The Oreck service store offered us a trade-in on the new model during our last annual service. Its new feature is that it is self propelled. But our current vacuum is so light, we didn't feel swayed by the self propel feature and we didn't take his offer! I also own a carpet cleaning company and use a commercial Oreck with great results for vacuuming before I clean carpet.

A broom is no longer needed for my kitchen/eating area. The Flat Out Tool allows you to get under furniture really well. Previously I used Hoovers and they were okay too.

I use the dyson cordless vacuum~ got it as a Christmas gift and it's made me not hate vacuuming (because, really, who wants a haul a huge vacuum around and then try to find a plug?) I can just take mine off the charger and vacuum the floor, no problem. It's not a heavy duty vacuum but it does well on my carpets and tile. I would definitely recommend spending the extra money to get one of these! Melissa, I am so grateful for you and Chad~ I have an organized way of cleaning now that doesn't drive me nuts and I have you to thank!

I use a robo vac (iLive A4s) that is scheduled to run every morning. It's much cheaper than the Roomba and it does a good job. I have dogs and it picks up pet hair. My dog barks at it when it gets near her dog bed but, it's a small price to pay for having dust-free and dirt-free floors. I also clean the dirt bin during my nightly routine. The bin cleaning takes about a minute. I hate to vacuum too.

I have a rainbow vacuum. My husband bought a reconditioned one in 1978 for 100$ and has replaced parts twice. It's a breeze to clean and since it uses water as the filter no extra expenses. New ones are terribly expensive but I found a year old one at a estate sale for $75; bought it for the power head. It cleans deeply. The only drawback is you must not leave water in it and it must be assembled each time. I wouldn't have another!!

The hubs and me both swore by Kenmore canisters for decades. We both grew up with them. Well…the quality went way downhill so we bought a Dyson at Target Black Friday sale three years ago and never looked back. My husband is an impeccable cleaner. I on the other hand, not so much. He calls me the “wiper downer” 🤣

We have a Dyson Animal vacuum and love it! With two inside dogs it is a godsend!! It has amazing suction power and every time I empty out the canister I am amazed at what it picks up and the amount of actual dirt that comes out of our rugs. I do empty it after each use which I find helpful. It may have cost us a lot upfront to purchase but the payoff is definitely worth it. Thanks for sharing this video.....

I have a Eureka vacuum. I bought it at Walmart (I got the pink one!) it was around 70$ in 2012 and it works great. The filter is a sponge material, so it's easy to clean. I love to sprinkle arm and hammer baking soda carpet refresher first, wait 15 minutes, then vacuum it up. It makes my place extra nice for when I have company coming.

We have a Dyson DC33 Multifloor Upright. Love it. Great motor. Great on carpet, vinyl floors. Suggest a more compact vac for stairs though since it is heavy. It's balanced unlike the models with the ball. Highly recommend.

I'm lazy but have three cats so I need to vacuum pretty much everyday. I have a Roomba and clean it after every use but its not so bad since it does most of the work :) I still need to do a deep vacuum once a week, but it get rids of 90% of the dirt and I would NEVER vacuum everyday without it!

I have the Eureka Pet vacuum. It is a canister type and I love the job it does. However, the stretch hose is not long enough, the tool carrier won't stay on and the "pet paw" is held on to the unit by a button magnet which isn't strong enough, and the dust collector is difficult to replace after emptying. But I like the performance, it's a beast! I just washed the filter about a month ago.

I use a 15 year old bissell. Regularly maintain it and replaced the filters and belt every 6 months. When I vacuum, I make sure not to ram it into thinks like I see a lot of people do. So mine is still in great shape, works like new. I vacuum every 3-4 days and still pull up at lease half a bin of dog hair and fine dirt and sand. Living in the central valley in california.

I have two Mieles! An upright for upstairs (all carpet) and a canister for downstairs (hardwoods and rugs). I love them both more than a person should love a vacuum. I also adore having a bag again, after years of canister type containers. My upright is actually in the shop because I DIDN'T clean it when I should have and the poor thing needs a spa day.

Vacuuming is my favorite part of cleaning. I currently own a Bissell Powerglide Lift-Off Pet vacuum, and it's a really powerful vacuum for how budget friendly it is. However once I save up enough money I will probably switch to a Dyson. Either the Cinetic Big Ball canister, or if I move by then, the Dyson Small Ball.

I have a Rainbow cleaner. I've been using it for 16 years. The maintenance is a fraction of the effort this woman needs to do. It is a water canister, so it *NEVER* loses suction. I just dump it into the toilet and rinse it out. I do wash it with soapy water sometimes. It is typically 3x the cost of other cleaners but so much worth it. I use the wet squidgy to suck up the water when I wash floors.

We have hard floors throughout, but we have dogs that shed. We first sweep then we vacuum. We have tried uprights but go back to using a shopvac. Ok, it does sound like I live in a garage, but it allows picking up almost everything on the floor, and we empty it after a day long session. We did purchase HEPA filters for the vacuums that are Teflon/PTFE coated so they are fairly easy to clean with a few taps (or more aggressive taps, and this is ALL OUTSIDE) on a flat surface gets most of the stuff out. Often I use the air compressor (outside) and blow through the filter from the inside to the outside. That gets lots of fine stuff. Then I gently wash the outside of the filter with plain water and let dry. If I would put a cloth bag over the filter inside the vac, it would keep larger chunks out of the filter. Every 2 or 3 years I replace the HEPA filters, or just start using them for 'garage only' use. I empty the hair/dirt after every day long use, and do the filter cleaning whenever I start smelling the dog hair when the vacuum is on. I also wear hearing protection (nothing bulky but it cuts the noise several Db) while vacuuming. We have several small shopvac's. One on each floor (I hate carrying the vac's up and down stairs). When transporting the filters, I put them in a separate plastic bag from the general VAC effluent, just to get them outside for cleaning the filters.

I have a shark rotator powered lift away deluxe. it has a bunch of attachments and I love that the canister comes off in case you need to get under furniture. Also, it's pretty lightweight compared to other vacuums I've used and since I'm only 5ft it's a good size. Also the suction and power behind it is amazing. I swear using it on carpet feel like it pulls me a little. I hot a really good deal on it for about 180, but usually I think it's over 300.

I got myself a Eureka a few years ago for 350 bucks on sale. It has a ton of little features and the main selling point was "better suction than dyson".. while this has proven true, over my old dyson animal, you do have to keep it clean to maintain the suction so this vacuum cleaning chore is done once a month in my home. I make a game and clean the fridge, stove, and behind the washer and drying the same day lol!

So after watching your videos I finally got a dyson hand held which I love and is enough to do my whole house. Thank you so much. If your think why would i spend that much on a vacuum trust me i thought the same but now that I own one I will never use a different brand again. Theres always sales and deals on these vacuums so if your in the market just keep an eye out.

Why so heavy? UGH! And then I got a Dyson. OMG I now love to vacuum. It's so easy! No cord to deal with. Stores away so easily. I also have a hand held one for stairs, without the wand, although the ones with the wand do the same job.

If you have any amount of pets, getting a pet vacuum is a MUST! I got a bissel for pets for only $100, and I LOVE it! I vacuum twice a week and use the appropriate high, it gets super dusty if you are not keeping up with regular maintenance but so worth the money, as compared to a $500+ model that does the same thing essentially. I had a dyson and am not a fan anymore. This one on the first use fill two 10 gallon trash bags of dirt and hair, that my dyson was not getting. It wasn't even old, and resented sent in for repairs. But the bissel clear view pet, is a must for pets, and allergy control in my opinion. I would probably died of I didn't get it haha!!
