I'm south african, and can tell you why. 1 we have a lot of different accents, and english isn't the first language. 2 we really like playing the game hard, you can have skill, but crushing someone's spirit you can't teach. the punch comment for example, nobody likes being punched in the face obviously, we know that. He just planted the seed of "so does that mean this guy likes getting punched wtf" and the opponent starts asking himself questions. Anything that makes the opponent doubt themselves or looks at you in a higher regard There's a lot of history why we play the way we do. The people that survived in Africa, through wars and harsh conditions for centuries, makes fighting normal for us. It is not as "civilized" as Europe, but off the field guys are great!
