I am from Kentucky and honestly Kentucky does not want change. Any sort of change. They want their guns and their "God" and nothing else. Everybody who is suffering doesn't matter a lick and that is even if the voter in question is suffering from poverty. "Keep poor and uneducated" is all Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul say to their voters. Every one of those voters has been deluded into believing they are self-made millionaires in the waiting despite living paycheck to paycheck.

But this is an issue ? 2,000 direct payments would stimulate the economy far more than loans to corporations. It would just go right back to the economy. He's talking to his fellow Republicans most of whom don't support the checks at all. They didn't want to give the $600. The problem is many of them would be forced to vote for the checks if it came up as an up or down vote on just that question. So all but Hawley keep their traps shut and pretend they are helpless when the truth is they could force McConnell to have an up or down vote on the checks but they stay silent because they don't want to support giving the money to regular people. They don't care if people starve.

KY is weird. Evangelicals and the wealthiest have ppl hating abortion so they vote GOP, and afraid the mines wil close bc then "jobs will disappear" so they vote GOP. Its lies and fear mongering. (The mines have been closing since before I was born, and everyone hates coal barons). It really often comes down to who is anti abortion and pro coal for whatever reason, even as ppl live in deep poverty and jobs are hours or whole states away. I have a proposal. As Senators and elected officials please fee free to take no pay until the general public has enough money to for housing , utilities, and food. We should not have to beg when the whole issue was not our fault to begin with. The President for 4 years did not take a salary. Which Representatives and Senators are willing to do the same.
