It’s worth knowing that sometimes t Congressman have meetings in other committees at the same time. There should be ways of avoiding this. Not all committees meet as frequently as others. The opening time for committee meetings is set ahead of time, but the closing time is set during the meeting itself. Then, sometimes they go on late into the evening or even till dawn. So that may explain some of the absences.

We are. We've been drowning in corruption for years, mostly from Chicago based politicians. All the woke, democrat-pushed social programs are only available to people in Chicago and they eat it up every time. Downstate folks have an entirely different experience. It pays to be broke in the big city but it's totally different downstate. Pritzker represents Chicago first, always. If you live south of the Chicago area, it's like living in an entirely different state. Central and Southern Illinois voters tend to vote conservatively, but Chicago doesn't and their population outweighs southern IL. Too many Chicagoans vote in favor of woke policies that they believe will benefit them, even if it bites them later - like the sanctuary city nonsense blew up in their face recently.

It was a smart play that's either gonna work or backfire. Basically what Cruz did was he made the whole thing about Israel as that's the only issue both parties care equally most about but only the Dems have pro Palestinian base (imo even Palestinians should vote for Trump). So by making the nominee an anti Israel candidate he was painting a target on Dems for the most powerful lobby in US to notice. But Dick Durbin is the go to guy, the superstar of the Israel lobby and so there's a chance the play won't work. In addition the entire point about selecting this candidate is Biden admin trying to buy off pro Palestinian base by selecting this judge. And If Cruz keeps painting him too much as pro Palestine the base may start to stop calling Joe, Butcher Biden. No position should be for life....not judges...not Supreme Court Judges. Judges should be judged and voted on every few years based on their performance. People change, their values change, and their performance changes over time. Sometimes those changes are more in favor of what the constitution and laws are and sometimes it is less. When a judge who is in office starts doing a lackluster or poor job, they should be voted out.
