Just found your Channel. Refreshing to see good content from a 4wd / overlanding channel. Seems to all be 100K rigs and 50K trailers (especially here in oz). Good to see someone showing that you don't need an Engel fridge and custom drawers to get out there. Well done bro!

What happens if your clothes or boots get wet or damaged? It is always a good idea to bring at least one spare set of clothes, especially in the colder seasons when having wet clothes could potentially become a dangerous situation. I'm all for minimal packing, but not at the expense of safety. Underwear is your own call... :)

I started overlanding on motorcycles, so a duffel and an offroad worthy vehicle is my literal minimum requirement (did several cross-continental trips with this setup). I have learned to appreciate the space a larger machine offers to enjoy the better things in life, like a chair. Love the channel. Cheers.

Sir, that orange triangular piece of plastic that you threw into the kitchen pile is part of the JetBoil system. It is used to stabilize the 4 and 8 ounce fuel canisters, especially when used on uneven surfaces. The plastic arms fold out and provide a platform that locks into the base of the canister. So, do not throw it away! Great video. Look forward to the three-item video.

Michael, are you ever envious of some of the people you've had on your channel with the super expensive rigs?? I LOVE the overland rig but also see that it is very minimal to some guest you've had on the channel. Considering your rig, do you think that some people have overkill on their rigs or are you aspiring to have the same setup one day? I'm a huge fan and you're videos inspire me to get out and adventure. Keep the videos coming and thanks for what you do!!
@OverlandBound
@OverlandBound 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! I really appreciate it! As with all things, people have various levels of desire and ability. I can't afford an expensive rig (by some standards), and I am happy with what I have. That also does not mean I am going to have a stance or begrudge someone who has a more expensive rig. I am very opposed to putting someone down because they spent north of $100k on their rig. More power to them. When I can make an upgrade, I am very happy with that. It's all about getting outside and exploring. Cheers!

going out with just three things, what they are? In an urban environment I would say: My wife, my car, my credit card ...? ;-) Hahaha, but seriously: difficult to say what you mean. Since most of us outdoor fans carry usually all what is required to basically survive always in their pockets: a lighter, a pocket knife, latest iPhone or Android, maybe even more ... so the extras might be anyway whatever luxury items. Depending on the region and climatic zone you are, maybe such luxury things as a blanket, a mug, and a bag of finest ground coffee ... or so? ;-)
