Get a DeWalt propane heater, probably made by Mr Buddy and it uses the DeWalt 20v batteries to power a fan and lighted handle as well as it has usb outlets to charge devices.

Not sure who jerry is but CADAC developed the Skottel (grill) Braai 40+ years ago. Which originated from South African farmers using a plough shear over a fire to cook an outdoor meal.

Rooftop tents are actually colder than ground tents. The cold nighttime air and wind are the largest cooling factors. The rooftop tents are cooled from underneath in addition to normal cooling that affects ground tents.

If you use a buddy heater in an enclosed space then you need to have a battery powered carbon monoxide alarm, as they DO fail. We just had a dad, his teenage daughter and their dog that died because they were using a faulty/old one in their 5th wheel and they got snuffed out while they slept.

Keep it all on board unless you won't be doing heavy 4x4 stuff. Trailers are problematic if you like to mob, but awesome if you take it a bit easier but just want to travel, but still have the ability to 4x4 if need be, but not excessively.

Great video. Can you tell me about that bed rack you’re using. I’m looking to replace mine because once I added a RTT I lost all rear vision. It totally bocks my view. Does yours give you some sight out your rear window?
@NarrowRoad4Jesus4 жыл бұрын
GREAT Video Brother. One thing I added recently to my rig was a small magnetic level for when I park and set up. Maybe it’s a bit too anal, but there is nothing better than a flat surface when you are setting something down in the back of your rig or on your tailgate. Nothing worse than when and it rolls or spills. I picked mine up at Home Depot for less than $5.

@telfer33884 жыл бұрын
I know You said that buddy heater has some automatic shut down protection - but the open flame on the b-roll just does not inspire confidence. I mean sleeping in a very small full of flamable materials compartment with an open flame witch also means there is a risk of C0 poisoning ? What am i missing here? I would like to know because i would gladly buy one insted of spending a whole lot of money on a Webasto kind of system :) EDIT - after some further reading, it seems Carbon monoxide levels that this thing produces are not hight (theoretically acceptable) but dangerous over long time exposure is seems.

Why a tacoma? not a 4runner with more space for gear and allows a bigger ikamper on the roof? More off-road worthy with better departure angle and shorter wheel base. I'm curious.

Does the heater give off CO2? I can see people putting it in their tent and getting killed.
@bustabeatgeorge4 жыл бұрын
No reports of deaths from using a Mr heater. It has a oxygen sensor that shuts it off it detects low oxygen levels. I usually turn it on while awake, let the tent get hot and cozy then shut it off to be safe. It works perfect
