i was using a max might run yesterday from a Korean gamer (JCHin). he used the Kadachi Lion ( gosh i miss that gun). though i did not defeat the SOB i modified his set a bit to use the Snipe cannon. i think i can finally take the Black Dragon down. only problem, without element you have to eat the judgement a couple times (trust me , i'm no speed runner and i haven't tried a group because i dont want to be THE GUY that gets carted).. I gotta "git gud". Thanks Ang, great run and i'll try your sets. Any thoughts on how to break the wing other than blast away at it? And what do you think about the Alatreon HBG versuys the Kjaar elemental HBG.

Don't worry about breaking the wings if its only for mats, youll get wings in the rewards (honestly the hardest pieces to get is the mantle and the skypiercers)

If you can't kill him, try to get the mats (break the wings too) and solo him with his own LBG and Safi Armor. Use Blightresistence and go on ice, fire, thunder atk. 4 at least. The rest of the decorations/skills is on what you feel comfortable with. (Still a hard fight solo) The event quests (with more talented hunters) is in multyplayer unexpected easy.

From what I learned from Lord Viettner, Alatreon HBG is only average in comparison with the Kjarr ones, and they come with critical element, so... RIP

The weapons look good but it’s hard to justify losing the utility you get from safi weapons. Especially for gunners.

The LBG is great because it gets you +1 recoil on any element. That said, Aquashot for water element already gets +1 recoil so Alatreon's probably doesn't win. The others though get nice upgrades.

i think the snipecannon with guard 5 and guard up (if you have the shield jewel). you can do it with the LBG and higher mobility but make a mistake and he one shots you (thats me one shot Pete)

It's amazing that people make builds from the monster that isn't defeated yet...Alatreon in this case. If we would have beaten the monster, we wouldn't need your video. Use more accessible parts for lower level people.

well, you have about 13 clusters and you'll run out, and alatreon has like 50k hp, plus he moves around so you will likely miss often and he can kill you easily if you use rocksteady.. idk this is just a nightmare just thinking about it lol

strongest wyvern heart in the game, but its raw damage, so it wont synergize well with the elemental skills that you need to have for the elemental ammo it favors you can also go Normal 3 at the cost of 3 custom mods to have recoil 1 , reload normal. you could go N3+wyvernheart with scope on a shield-less build if you just love that machine gun vibe

On Pierce 2 LBG, could it be viable with Garuga LBG? Rapidfire Pierce 2 on Recoil+1 and 3 evade reloading (without Ammo plus)...

It's just a Standard hbg pierce set. Don't see what makes this special for alatreon. So sad that works for him anyway. Was hoping capcom manages to give us a monster you have actually to fight. But no. The cheestrain is coming for any Monster...

Wonderful, would you suggest to try this out in a party made by 2 dragon ele dmg dealers + 1 support ? Furthermore: is Alatreon's LBG really that much better compared to Safi ele LBGs given the same build? i see that RF 1 and Fast Reload are good but Safi ones have double the ammo and deal more dmg (more or less 7-8%?) per shot, so i'm really struggling to understand if the faster attack speed really surpasses and by how much the "true dmg" that Safi ones have

Alatreon’s lbg is good because it can rapid fire both fire and ice elements with ice having fast reload. This means you can counter alatreon even if he shifts elements.
