I remember taking acting classes with Michael a few years ago in Boston and thinking "out of our whole group, Michael's the one who's got the most real chance of making it" and there he is. Life goes around and has many unexpected turns. I'm a medical student now, and he's following his own path because he never gave up. Now that's inspiring!

It's 4:26 am where I am right now. I am a 51 year old former I.T. professional, now professional videographer/editor. I'm working on the final cut of my first feature film. This is by far the most work i've ever put in on a project and it scares the crap out of me. Someone told me that I was too old to pursue my dream recently. I didn't listen. This video reminded me why. Creators create...it's what's in us to do. I waited a long time to work up the courage to. But i'm here now and I won't stop. Thanks for the wisdom.

Took me a whole year to ''Just Start'', I dilly-dallied then made the decision and since starting my creative journey, I can't stop, its all I think about, it's all I enjoy doing, it fills my cup! This is a beautiful message not just for creatives but literally applies to everything in life. You told this story pretty well, taking notes here and there, it's always wonderful learning from each other. Thanks!

"Just start." It's what I tell myself every time I hesitate in creating. And I think he's right - it's hardest thing to do, but the more we do it, the more we realize that if we only step off "the ledge," the journey is upward, not downward. The creative community is a beautiful thing. As unique as we think our struggles are, we all go through it. If you know, you know, and sharing that knowledge is gift for those that are still trying to take that first step. Thank you! This was amazing to watch. Very inspirational.

@DylColeman
@DylColeman Жыл бұрын
@@okandameshark951 try and make something you want to make. Anything. Start small. It could be writing out an idea you have rattling around in your brain, producing a single image you have in your head, or creating a KZbin video about something you care about. If you do it purposefully, you will inevitably get better at whatever you attempt, and you’ll also learn more about yourself and discover others on the same journey as you along the way

As a Nigerian creative living in Canada, I've had this problem over and over again. I have worked on a few movie sets and met some incredible people but more often than not I'd have these thoughts "You're just wasting your time", "people probably won't like it", "maybe its time to quit". You get so wrapped up in your head that you start to doubt yourself, your accomplishments... your talent. This was truly inspiring to watch, I'm glad I stumbled on this video! and to everyone having doubts, JUST START!

As a young creative, this video really struck a chord. I spent my first year of design school feeling like I wasn't achieving what I wanted to achieve outside of class because I had so many doubts about what was possible or if I could hold myself to perform to my own standards. This year, I'm proud to "just start" and start making art I want to create. It's still early stages, but it's setting things in motion...I'm starting!!! Thank you.

from darkness, to colour, and that beautiful smile..... being true to who you are is inspirational, it’s growing, it’s walking with our creator that paves our destiny. Often the bridge is the integrity to hold on to our dreams, and the essence of who we truely are despite the seemingly hopelessness of it all, then besides all odds “ just start”, with one small thing! one little step,a movement a moment, forward........ the caterpillar would eventually gracefully transition and transform into a beautiful butterfly and fly.❤️✨🦋🙌

@@travelswithted As I'm I bro. I've separated from partner and am having to battle to see my daughter. Only seen her 3 times in the last 16 months. Last 18 months, I've gone through the healing and hate stage, very taxing and draining on myself. Many failed ideas last year. After the culling, I realised it's this I want to do. Content over marketing as a side hustle. Don't give in. This is a test, a test you can handle (I know it sounds weird) but hang in there. It's a step by step thing. Day after day. Hour after hour. Don't entertain the dark side. The game is to keep your heart clean and become what you want to become. What you're truly meant to become. Not the 'old you' but the new you. Example: me. I've always wanted to create media, audio, writing, filming, create my own brands and strories. 20 years ago. Digital marketing wasn't a thing. It became a thing after a few years. I broke into the industry. Years later. My nuke moment I mentioned. My dream of my own digital studio making webflow sites was dropped. 75% fulfilling. Creating my own stories, brands and content feels 10000% fulfilling. That's the context of my initial message. Hang in there. Keep your heart clean and do a lot of healing. Therapy has helped and still does. Look for a charity. It's cheaper

I can't express how many times I've walked those same streets in this video thinking. We shouldn't think too much or wonder how others will judge. We are already our biggest critics as creatives. Creatives helping each other, this is just what I needed to see in my recommendation, not everyone is cookie cut, God gave each of unique talents and gift, its for us to use it, or let it go to the grave, books that were never written, songs never sung, films that were never shown, that would be sad end of a life. This video has inspired me, I have been sick with a cough and cold, but the ideas are going through my head, the world needs, what we have. My heart is if I could touch one person here on earth, just for that one person, will all be worth it.

First, well done. The message and the look was awesome. I've been working as a professional video editor/photographer/shooter for the last 10 years, and now, just now, have started to get started on my journey in this platform of KZbin. I've been talking about it and thinking about it for damn near five years, but I never really started. If I was honest about that, it was because I knew my time and resources were limited and I wouldn't be able to put out content that looked like what I wanted it to; like the content I produce for work. But late last year, I finally just said it's time. Honestly, ignoring other peoples opinions and my worries about people thinking I'm a fraud is the hardest part. But Michael is right, I know it is putting myself out there in the world to find like minded people. Even with the very, very small interactions I've had thus far on this platform, it is clear that creating things and connecting with people is powerful. Very well done. New sub here.

Hey MBTI! Ben here 🤓 This is Michael Jibrin. I’m glad the video inspired you. We all start out not knowing.. but learn as do, practice, fail etc… I still don’t know what I’m doing but willing to learn as I keep going. Wish you success my friend

WOW. This film and this man's story is so powerful. Got me crying. Deeply moving. Michael didn't give up and made his own way ...I give up too early. Make excuses. Have gotten in my own way time and time again. Get paralyzed by fear and doubt and don't start... But I'm sick of it. I was made to create and it's killing my soul to keep stopping myself. This beautiful story is just the reminder I needed. Thank you both for giving your creative gifts and yourselves 🤍

Love everything here. I’m on my way to become an artist but it’s really hard and very frustrating. This kind of stories and message always gives me a lot of motivation and inspiration and push me to carry on, because the thing is: if they could, why not me ? As Michael said in the video, just start doing stuff and keep going. Never give up with your dreams.

We need more families like this especially on KZbin so that we can shine a positive light on marriage and family! Todays culture is leading young people away from the traditional family the way God designed it. My wife and I started a channel and we hope more will join us!

This video has brought me to tears. This was a beautiful story and Michaels wife when she suggested doing auditions in his native language was epic. The reason I was so emotional was because to see someone show their vulnerability is so inspiring. I am a creative and started down the route of art four years ago after I lost my partner in tragic circumstances. This video was extremely powerful in the lessons of trying not to let shame (among other things) to stop us from starting. Thank you so much for sharing the experience of another creative. 😊
