This is what separates him from every other fingerstyle player for me. He arranges it so that the soul of the original isn't lost whereas in other fingerstyle covers, I feel like the rhythm and mood are totally different..still cool, but not as moving as Kent's work.

Yes. His technical skills are off the chart good but he matches that with a soulfulness that catches the feeling of the song. Capturing and relating the feel DNA while also delivering the technical is incredibly difficult & unique.

I’m not usually of the “they’re just haters” but for Kent that’s the only logical explanation. Guys that have not now nor will ever exceed the level of “Smoke on the Water” and hence just get their panties in a wad when someone like Kent, who’s pretty much a level 9,000 master to their at best level 1 talent, drops a new song. There's no doubt that Kent is an extraordinary and gifted musician, if not the best we've all had the privilege to witness. What strikes me most is Kent's choices in the music he covers. Most guitarists on the tube here tend to cover recent pop songs or popular songs in general. This tends to give these other guitarists more views and more hits. Kent has chosen a different path. Kent has chosen songs that are so surprising that you never would have guessed they would be possible or covered on the guitar. He transcribes these covers and maintains the soul, the feels, the originality of the originals. And on top of that, he executes his transcriptions so flawlessly and (seemingly) without effort. Guitarists will know that it takes tons of dedication and time to play like this. What is this kid, 16 years old? He picks songs from *my childhood* and gives me the chills just listening to them (check out his cover of "Sweet Love" by Anita Baker). Kent, if you're listening --- keep doing what you're doing, young man. You have enriched so many lives with your music, and you'll continue to change lives for the better. You're my favorite guitarist here on the tube. ❤️❤️❤️

I dont think there is any guitarist on this planet who is able to combine a rythm section where he mimics the snaredrum with his fingernails on the body of the guitar and then smootly changes that to the palm of his hand mimicing the base-drum and hitting the fretboard at the same time keeping this groove going whilst playing an independant bass-line with chords- idependently from the melody which he is playing over the top all done AT THE SAME TIME ... And because he is exceptionally musically gifted he inserts hammer ons and pulls offs and mixing harmonics within the melody keeping the song together as it was intended by the original band and only 16 years of age its just amazing keep them coming Kent... im a big fan

I'm always so mesmerized by Kent's style and fluency, and in total awe of his interpretation of his song selection: it's so pure and honest to the original, but he manages to make the tune his own. I've heard a lot of guitarists in my lifetime, and seen a lot of genuine talent, but Kent is by far the best I've seen / heard, the way he captures the bass, rhythm, lead, harmonies, and counterpoints in each song - on ONE GUITAR!!! More, Kent, more!

here is only one way to play a song, and that is to play it the way it was meant to be played and written by the original artist. There's everyone and than there is Kent. Hands down this dude will kick anyone's ass when it comes to playing anything on guitar. I've head a lot of great guitarist artist play, but this man is on a different level. His playing is clean, clear, covers the full spectrum, original like a well oiled and tuned machine where he never misses any part nor does he ever misses a beat. Just mind blowing.
